OEM screen resolution??

Does anyone know what the screen resolution and dimensions are for a 2008 V8V sat/nav screen?

I would like to replace my sat/nav screen with a higher resolution one for an iPhone screen mirroring project.

Any recommendations for a good screen that actually fits?

6" wide or smaller, might be able to squeeze a 6.5 in wide.

3/4 of an in depth.

IF you mirror the dimensions of a Garmin 60LMT you will have what you need to know.

This has been covered extensively. Search the archives. Unfortunately there is no easy fix for the original Nav screen.

I have not seen any threads discussing the actual resolution of the OEM screen. Depending on the resolution, I may or may not replace the monitor itself. I'm installing a wireless cell phone mirroring module [thus rendering the antiquated Volvo nav useless] and if the OEM screen is decent, I'll just keep it and simply bypass the video feed to the wireless module. Audio will come from Bluetooth streaming upgrade module - part no. FD43-37-10167.

Much appreciated. Do you happen to know what the OEM resolution is?

That sounds very interesting.

Looking forward to the outcome.

Based on the Definitive Guide, the resolution is 480 x 234.

I have the newer Garmin unit with better Nav and higher resolution and still hate it. My fix? Don't use it. It really only comes up when in reverse.

I hate it as well. But I'm doing a 1080p screen with hdmi in to connect to a module that lets me wirelessly stream from my cell phone.

I took the OEM Garmin unit out and will open up to stuff these into the old housing...
