V8V Doors

I have a 2006 V8V and the doors do not stay open anymore, which is quite annoying due to my height and time to get out of the car.

What’s the fix? Is it costly?

Door struts. You can get them from Redpants.

It will not be costly if you do it yourself. How to do it is posted on the forum.

I just installed my door struts last weekend (also purchased from RedPants) - took me ~2 hours - going slow and careful, but the end result is awesome!
I finally have doors that stay open!

Recommend ordering the truck struts from RedPants at the same time. These install in ~5 minutes and also needed to be replaced on my 2006.

Definitely do all 6 struts, hood, trunk, door.

The doors will take a little time for sure.

I also got stock replacement struts from Redpants...

However, i am considering trying to get some aftermarket ones for the doors with a higher rating. it seems when i park on a hill, even with new struts, the passenger door still wants to start coming down... Not sure the pound rating on OEM ones but going to do some testing to see if i can get something a bit stiffer
