DB9 Key Remote

I have a 2007 DB9 Volante. When I bought the car it came with two master keys, one emergency key and two key remotes for locking, unlocking, trunk,

All the keys work, one remote works perfectly, the second remote never worked. I replaced the batteries in the non-op remote but still nothing.

I brought the car in for service to my local dealer, gave them both sets of keys, with both remotes and asked if they could program the inop remote. They claim that they need a special card that came with the car with the remote codes on it in order to program the remote.

Since I am the third owner of the car, and don’t have that card, am I just out of luck? I really only need one remote, but I like the idea of having a backup.

It seems like there should be a work around or AM should have a history.
Thoughts and ideas are welcome.

Thanks
Mark

Sorry, there is no work around unless the selling dealer had the codes from new. Only thing you could do is buy a new Volvo remote with the code and switch out the electronics with your FOB. the Volvo unit is around $100. Then it needs programmed by the dealer.

I know who the selling dealer is, but it is doubtful they would keep that info available for 12 years since they are no longer servicing the car. Plus I would need to prove to them ownership.....

So if I bought a new Volvo remote it would come with a code that could be paired with the Aston?

Volvo remote is the same case and electronics but it was modified by Aston.
Volvo part# 30772198. Buy it from a reliable source and verify it comes with codes.

Were you able to get the Volvo keyfob with the code and have Aston Martin program the keyfob for your car?

I bought a Volvo remote for my 2008 Vantage and my dealer was happy to program it for me for $255. My car came with only a key so having the remote is great. I bought a nice FOB for it too.
