Will a 2007 V8V parcel shelf fit a 2009?

A member on here messaged me saying he has a parcel shelf from his '07. Will the older ones fit a 2009 Vantage?

I don't know the answer but found this from Aston Martin Bits:

REAR PARCEL SHELF.
THERE ARE 2 TYPES, THIS IS EARLIER TYPE, PART NO 6G33-46668-BCW CHANGE TOOK PLACE APPROX 2008. AML RETAIL IS £616.83

THE DIFFERENCE IS THE SIDE PINS ARE SPRING LOADED ON THE EARLIER TYPE - ONLY SEEN THEM IN BLACK, LATER ARE FIXED - ONLY SEEN THEM IN GREY.
WE HAVE TRIED LATE TYPE IN EARLY CAR WILL NOT FIT! NOT BEEN ABLE TO TRY EARLY IN LATE CAR YET.

yep the 07 fits in the 17 car

dont think they would work the other way around due to the fixing

the essential difference is the 07 has a spring loaded pin on each side controlled by a small pull tab which sits under the rear section of the shelf. to remove it you pull the tab and the pins retract

in the later car the shelf is about half the weight & has plastic tabs which slide up and over a "hook" in the guide on each side

so if you pushed the later version into the earlier fitting I dont know if you'd get it out again

But for what you need it will work a treat

RamVA is infamous around these parts
FWIW, I have an '08 and the package shelf with the retractable pins kind of sucks. It's fiddly to release, quite heavy and annoying to handle once it's out of the car, and mine falls down on one side within a few miles of driving. I'd recommend getting the later one, but that's easy to say when it's not my money.

I appreciate the input. The good thing about the newer car is that I won't actually need to use the spring-loaded pins to remove it. And if worse comes to worst I can at least use the '07 shelf as a template to design and build a custom one out of carbon fiber or fiberglass and cover it in Alcantara.

Yes and it fits better

The earlier, now discontinued, premium parcel shelf fitted fine in my 2012 vantage

Problem solved

I got the parcel shelf from another member here and it works perfectly. I have less road noise in the cabin now, too.

Do you mean the cover or the actual shelf?

He's talking about the folding, removable cargo cover in the hatch, not the narrow behind-seat shelf that covers the battery and toolkit.

Yes, this. It's also sometimes called a package tray, but the OEM parts list on Scuderia Parts website is "parcel shelf".
