Umbrella Storage

This may sound weird, but the owner's manual for my 2009 V8V doesn't show the position for where the umbrella storage option would be.

Would someone with that option, please be kind enough to take a picture of their trunk to show me where that would be on my car if it had it?

I don't believe my car has that option from the factory, but I'm considering what it might take to add this.

Thank you.

Mine is an 07 with the umbrella option I cant imagine it being much different .
Open the rear hatch and look under the parcel shelf on the back wall of the trunk space . There should be two velcro loops where the umbrella would be .
Im going to honest and say I didn’t even notice mine for ages after I bought it as its tucked away so high out of sight , you need to duck down and really look for it .

My '16 V8 didn't have the option for it from the factory, and it was missing the mounting loops for it - yours may not have them either.

Mine was spec'd with the umbrella but somewhere along the line the car was strip-mined for anything that could be sold on Ebay (the crystal key, umbrella, owner's manual, air compressor, package tray, battery tender, etc.). It probably happened during the brief time a Carmax lot had it.

Two leather loops on the bulkhead under the package tray. It looks like this:

My 2008 Vantage has the umbrella. It is located far forward In the boot or trunk. Not the best location if you need to use it. Our Flying Spur has the umbrellas in the door pockets, where they are useable.

My '15 V8V GT history shows the umbrella was replaced under warranty in the first 6 months... I don't think it's ever been removed from the mounts up under the parcel shelf since. Regardless, not the ideal location. But how many folks drive their cars in the rain?

Well, they're manufactured in the UK, which is generally considered to be a fairly wet place.

I don't live there, but from having been there a handful of times and watching a lot of shows from the UK, I have a feeling that if you only drove on dry days you might drive your car twice a year...

Well, my car wasn't spec'd with the umbrella holder, but I do tend to keep a nice umbrella in my car, so I grabbed some leather and worked up my own using the little nubbin things in the upper trunk as the mounts. I may tweak the design for a v2 that fits a bit better, but not bad for a first attempt. the ferrule of the umbrella just sticks into a leather loop. The handle is held in by a two leather/velcro straps. And the great thing is that it's totally reversible/removable.

Overall umbrella placement.

Two-piece leather/velcro loop to hold the handle.

One-piece leather loop for the ferrule end.

I just got mine as a Christmas gift! I have used a very similar work:

In order to storage it in the most proper way, as the original factory option, as I did not want to damage the carpet, I bought this kind of leather and Velcro holders (removing the hooks):

https://www.amazon.es/dp/B0BDGHWKTB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detail s]https://www.amazon.es/dp/B0BDGHWKTB?...roduct_details

By unscrewing the bolts in the trunk you can place the holders by doing a small cut and then and screw again the bolts. So easy!!!

Check my answer here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...010-v8v-2.html

OEM Aston Umbrellas are common on eBay. I have bought more than one. It's fine umbrella at that. I usually move from the trunk to the passenger seat in the garage before driving off in the rain if I think I'll need it at the destination. I am usually more apt to just get wet and not bother with the umbrella. The umbrella handle can a corrode, so upkeep once or twice a year goes a long way.

Slightly off topic, but I remember going to the UK back in '85 and stopping at Harrods. Like some cultures have 100s of words for snow, I'd never seen so many different types of umbrellas for sale. It took as much room as the men's shoe section. I decided I probably wouldn't do well in a place that focused that much attention to an accessory that lets you stay dry - I could do that with geography by living elsewhere!
