Question Battery Tender

Hello all, my father has a 2011 Vantage, and I don't believe it had a battery charger with it when he purchased it. Is there a way to just use a Battery Tender on these cars? Do we have to use the port in the trunk or can we use the positive post under the hood to hook up to?

Absolutely, you can hook up to the under hood with any charger. Definitely don't want it to go below 12v as interesting things will happen. Hopefully the current battery is up to date so your not wasting your time.

Thanks guys. So checking to see if the battery is up to date is just accessing the battery compartment and checking the date to see if its in the 5-7 year range right?

Should have the battery tested as sometimes date codes aren't reliable. If in doubt start with a fresh battery.

Any place that's convenient, H8 battery most places have it. My last one was Duracell from Sam's club. Only cause Costco was out of stock. Pretty much use Interstate in everything.

See below, this is what I have used with great success, set & forget!

https://smartercharger.com/collectio...s/ctek-mxs-5-0

You'll need this adaptor if you want to plug it into the 12v port:

FYI, the current OEM charger by Aston Martin ( https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/0yQAA...-t/s-l1600.jpg ) is a relabeled Optimate6. MSRP is $499

You can buy a Optimate 6 or Optimate 7 for about $100 on eBay.

https://optimate1.com/prod/chargers/

I use one of those and they are great. (I have used Ctek and Noco in the past)

I've used the CTEK Multi-US 7002 for the eight years I've owned my DB9, and I consider it my car's most important "tool." It's never failed me. I suspect it's what most owners use.
I grafted a three-pin connector to the output to fit the port in my trunk, and it just does its thing. Less than $125 on Amazon.
