2019+ Vantage

I just got this message come up on the screen."Anti-theft Protection Activated. Please switch on the ignition and restart the system."

I drove the car out of the garage. Left it outside for about an hour and when I went back to start it, I got this message. I tried putting the Key inside the arm rest and turning, but nothing. I reached out to the dealer and besides turning the key inside the arm rest, they were not really sure what to do. Please let me know if anyone experienced this issue? I am not able to start the car at all. When I go to press brake, the start button does not light up red, light it usually does. My guess is that there is a sequence of things I need to do to unlock it, but I have no idea what that sequence is and dealer did not seem to know either.

- Battery is good (just replaced a few months ago). I put the car on trickle charge now, just to double check, but battery is not an issue. Windows roll down when I open door as normal. Lights all work.
- Tried my second key as well, but same issue.
- Turned key on on position and held down the volume button to try to restart the screen. After holding it for about 10 seconds it makes a beep sound, but the screen does not restart (even after holding it down for about 5 minutes).

It has been like this for 2 days now. So I think I tried it all at this point. 1st night I disconnected the battery and left the car. Nothing changed the next morning. Last night I left the car locked the entire night and again no change in the morning. I have held different buttons for multiple minutes, to see if anything would restart. Got nothing. Car wont let me start it. The Start/Stop does not light up red at all, no matter what I try. Very strange situation.

And the dealer has no idea how to clear the message and get the car to run?

Nothing that they can suggest for me to try. All I have left is to get the car towed to the dealership. I was hoping to avoid that, if it is a simple sequence of buttons that I have to press.

Do you have an aftermarket CarPlay unit installed?

Nothing aftermarket at all. Not even intakes or exhaust. All stock.

If you are on Facebook, there is a 2018+ Vantage group there. One of the active members is an Aston engineer. Try posting your issue there and he will likely respond.

Search for Aston Marin Vantage 2018+ Owners Group on Facebook

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes? Hard system reset

That would be my advice as well. Would this have thrown a code that could be checked?

Yes. Left it disconnected overnight. Still same issue. Car is at dealer now. They are backed up, so wont know what the issue is until about 2 weeks from now.

It was a connection issue that Aston Martin dealer resolved. Connection by the battery. One of the wires got loose.

OK, but they told you how to get the car out of this anti-theft block?

Once they fixed the connection, they said that message went away and car started right up.
