Toasted air filters db9 2014

80000 miles air filters changed only once with full aml service history it seems hard to beleive , but the air filters are to freak out...
well youtube is good to see the errors of some...

unless you can see the service book you cant understand what happenned exactly i doubt it was fully serviced means each years, big doubt....maybe it has 3 owners and last one over the years did the minimum, or that they had to go to diferent dealer and each time they assumed the air filters were good is hard to beleive, if its true i won't recommend these dealers...

I Will ask the dealer to update the airboxes seals and air filters each time myself if I own a new Aston. Never to let this happened or better again do it yourself. If well equipped and the car and garage is clean it's a pleasure to do it.
Is there a seal on db12 and db11 too?

My 06 only had 24K miles and 13 years when I got it with spun rod bearings. I am 100% certain they were original air filters that looked similar to yours. I suspect the oil filter was original as well even if the oil had been changed.

AMs get bought, driven (like they are stolen) and then traded in/sold. The next owner assumes the service has been done and right before a major service gets rid of it...

Might not be the life of every AM, but it was mine: Sold into life of virtual prostitution, only used to pick up the new owners third wife and then dumped for a Lexus SUV once the deal was consumated... And then back on the street, looking great and ready to help the next guy.

One more reason to do your own maintenance on these cars, you know it's done right

HERE HERE......I completely agree with you on this.

From first hand experience, I have a very low opinion of dealer techs....all of them. Even if they start out with the right attitude, it quickly deteriorates from there.

Mine were in great shape like all I changed in my car was indeed like brake pads, brake fluids air filter in excellent shape, it was a one owner after all and he didn't drive it, service was done all the time in perfect time except year 7 or 8 where I did the differential and gear x change, on 12 years I got 8 stamps but so little miles I did when I skipped the service....but for yours, same now that you care for her, it's the important. Some people are more distant or with more cars and they skip things, you well described the type of owners it's a bit sad...when I read one will buy a db11 and let it outside it hurts....lol

Some could kept the original air filter and still be in great shape cause there is some good things when getting these cars , they haven't been driven on too long trips etc, often same travels and not updating some filters maybe no big deal
At least they were not cracked opened like I saw in another video from a young dude.

When i got my DB9 i took it to an AM specialist for a service, car had 16k miles on it and was 10 years old, it had original air filters still installed. They were not too bad though but the specialist told me they are not a standard service item and has to be requested by you. My car had 11 services with AM dealers before i bought it.Seems like madness to me.

It’s a shocking indictment of dealer service…and such an easy job…

me i m good to do a new oil change after 100 kms driven, i will be the first around....due to negligence, i could not unscrew the oil filter and started the car, when i empty the oil tank a second time the day after i replaced the oil, it was dark again...and i suspect i didnt warm up the engine the first trial, so all a bit wrong. left lot of bad oil inside and new oil run with a bad filter, i think down on the road it be a serious service though....i just ordered the oil and i got the filter already. waiting the lube to do it.
too much pressure on me working on this car i keep forgeting lot of things....i hope i calm down...

first the new oil was screw with a bad filter, then i changed the filter and it was probably screw cause the oil was bad, it never end, unless you change both correctly in the same time, so here we go.
i am worry droping a tool or a screw inside the engine compartment or throtle aera or even the oil area.

i don't like that the ram air inlets into the filter box aim directly at the filters, contaminating that one spot. could have made it swirl around the filter instead.

looks like the car in vid is same

I got my car in March (2010 Vantage with 21k miles). The PPI said the car only needed rear tires.

Took it to my local indie, he said it needed a 10 year service. The oil was 2 quarts low, diff fluid was black, air filters were from 2014 (not that dirty though), cabin filters were super clogged with debris.

Car runs and feels great now! The steering feels much smoother now that the power steering fluid was changed. Surprising.

It also needs brake pads, but I'm pretty sure that will be easy to DIY.
