Vert R8 anyone?

Just off the heels of yesterday's leaked Audi A1 sketches, Car Online once against comes forward with yet another official Audi design sketch of the R8 Spider. Our sources state it could be an early-stage design sketch for a motor show concept in the future. However, what is inconsistent about the sketch is that the bodywork is completely different than the existing R8. According to Car Online the R8 Targa goes on sale in 2009 which means a 2008 public debut. Although the possibility of a concept looms, it's suspicious that Audi would change the appearance of highly sought after R8 so soon. So, for your comparison and enjoyment we have included a cleaner more realistic rendering in higher resolution of the R8 Targa utilizing the R8's current exterior design. What do you think? r8 will be discontinued afte rthe v10 comes out
the purpose of the car was to make people look at audi, and to see how the technology on the audi has tickled down to regular audi's

Many other R8 variants are coming, the V10, diesel, sypder/targa. The car has no plans to be discontinued. The assualt on Porsche has just begun.

 

i doubt porsche allow any type of serious "assualt"

 

At this point, Porsche doesn't control Audi. I'm sure porsche will do their best to counter the future Audis though.

 

if there's a demand they will build it, period. not back to drawing either since there's a Gallardo spider already.

I do not think they would change so quickly after the release. I do not like the line either to harsh and squared off. The same way the Corvette and Caddy have gone.

 

love the rear on the r8, the front leaves much to be desired.
