I have also tried this on my Porsche Carrera S and got the same problem.
To charge the battery use the claws direct on the battery.
When you buy the Ctek there is a cable which you can connect direct to the battery and in the future you then connect the cable direct to you Ctek charger.
The charging process with the xs 7000 is app. 7 hours - with the xs 3000 it is almost double.
Might be a defective one. I have an OEM and the Cteck. Never any problems.

New Bentley owner here. I have a 2005 GT. Just picked it up last month from a dealer. Great car to drive. I was curious as to how often I should use the battery charger? If I drive my car like 1-2x a week for 30 minutes or so, do I even need to use the charger?

If the batteries are in good shape, not to old, I think that will maintain them with out the trickle charger. Do you know if they are the original batteries? Nothing lasts forever mate.

Battery Tender connector

I have a 2009 GT. The tender has a round end about the size of a 50 cent piece. It does not seem to connect to the mount in the truck. It appears that the tenders came with two different style end connectors.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I replaced my bentley ctek charger cable end with the male connector to fit socket in trunk. Simple cheap mod and works without any issues, can buy connector at your local motor store.

Any idea of the part # or description of the male connector. I have the CTEK and want to solder a male connector on it. I have a 2006 GT and the trunk/boot female is 3 prong but don't know if they accept round pins - the the 3 openings are rectangle like.

You likely have your answer by now but this may be helpful to others. I think the later model cars and chargers have an external magnetic connector which is like a flat disk with no prongs that connects below the trunklid

Hi

My trunk has both the 3 prong and standard 12v socket. I just soldered on a standard male connector for charger in order to use the standard 12v socket.

Does your trunk not have the standard 12v socket which should be located next to the charge port?

Thanks JC, I have a single female socket on my 2006 Continental GT on the panel covering the battery the picture of which I posted. I am looking for the mate to that socket to solder it to my CTEK. Thanks for answering and any info you may have.

Hi

Look for the corresponding 3 pin "AMP" connector which is what Bentley uses.

Oh silly me I actually have the 3 pin prong which I cut off from my Bentley charger! My car only has the 12v socket as I got confused thinking I had both.

Let me see if the male connector is still in the charger bag, will mail it to you if it's there.

If you have it, that would be great. I'm having a hard time finding it on line -- I'd like to order it if I could find one. By the way , what Bentley do you have. I'm loving mine -- I just bought a 2006 Dark Sapphire GT with 7900 miles --- just like new. Also have an SL500 and CL600 -- all great cars -- the SL is bulletproof and the CL was my favorite until the GT but reliability/maintenance has been a nightmare.

Mines MY07 in the same color as yours. Most issues which require attention have been fixed but recently starting to hear the hiss in engine bay.

I'm away at the moment but will have look over the weekend for the AMP connector.
