normal sound system VS NAIM
Well, guess you desrve some background about me. As a pro musician/engineer and as an extension an audiophile (due to knowing what real music sounds like versus...). Was an IASCA judge (International Audio Sound Challenge) for their Sound Quality competition/rating. Not bragging, just wanted to be sure you have a qualifier of my comments and how my demands and requirements have long been higher than your normal Big Box Store audio equipment. Have heard quite a few $20k+ car audio systems in my life. Ok, enough of that and let us get down to Earth.
The stock Bose system is actually quite good, it even surprised me as Bose is, frankly, not known in the audiophile circle to be of high-end sound. A grand total of zero recording/project studios i know or have been in use Bose speakers. The Naim Audio system adds better highs, clarity and tighter bass. i'd say imaging, where instruments are placed within the right-to-left is about the same. There is more, yet hopefully you get the idea. If it was me, the Naim system is worth the investment if you value a better audio system plus retrofitting an audio system is not easy in a Bentley. My main gripe with the stock Bose system, which is in the 06 CGT that is here, is the lack of extension of the uppermost frequencies (above 10kHz) and if i try to make adjustments then the highs on the Bose system gets a bit brittle/harsh. Am trying to avoid all those 'audiophile' terms as it is a lingo/language all unto itself at times.
Bottom line, you said you wanted clarity and more punch and so yes, the Naim Audio system should be ticked on the options list.

I'm sure the naim system is great but I find the stock system to be excellent
It's by far the best stock system I've ever heard in a car
But I'm a drummer so I could be slightly deaf!!

)FYI: Am a percussionist/drummer too. Have you tried using custom in ear monitors (IEM) while in the studio or on stage? IEMs are a true blessing. Liked the JH Audio JH13 yet the Ultimate Ears 18 Pro gets the nod for being better due to a bit more bass and they use a bit more material at the outer-most part so that helps for comfort. Seriously, if you have not tried IEMs, they are amazing and will help save your hearing too.
