Any ideas how many lurk under the lenses? I don't want to take them off just yet and for the life of me cannot find a resource which tells me how many, type etc for the Bentley C GT
I've never changed these units/bulbs. Here are some additional pics. If you can't get at the connectors from within the trunk, you may have to remove the rear bumper.
I tried changing these lights to 12V/5W bright white LEDs and had no luck. Kept getting the CANBUS error...even after getting an error free bulb. I've gone through about 3 different configurations of bulbs, sockets and resistors with no luck whatsoever. Even though the resistor solution works, they get so hot that you can't possibly risk installing them inside your bumper. One day you will forget and next thing you know is that there's a hole in your bumper. The original bulb is PS19W which means that it's 19W @ 12VDC. In order to use an LED solution, you need to be able to pull 1.58A of current with your new solution for the car to think everything is running fine and dandy! I'm still driving around with this CANBUS error as I don't feel like spending $300/ea on those ugly yellow lights.
If anyone has a better solution, please share! Thanks.
Some calculations that might help someone:
Power = Voltage X Current (P=VI)
Voltage = Current X Resistance (V=IR)
Old Bulb:
19W = 12V X 1.58A
12V = 1.58A X 7.6OHMS (approx. 8-ohms of resistance)
i think you have the problem of the error because led does not work well with the fade in/out feature and here is my question to all od you...
i noticed that only 2 plate lamps are fading in/out - the other two just go on/off
is it ok (only two fade)
what is the purpose/sense
where from factory the fade in/out should be positioned - in the mid, on the edges, shuffled? or maybe 2 on left or 2 on right?
@sazam ,
I certainly hope that Will solved his issue, being that it has been almost 8 years since he posted on the issue...
As to your question of the fading, I will double check but I believe that the fade goes with which door is opened and closed, you can see in my video in the first 40 seconds that my driver's side fades when I open and close the driver's door .

yes - this is what i am reffering to and i see you have only 2 bulbs fading - the same as mine - the other not.
seems like factory setup - why what sense etc ?
and finally - what is the right location of the with fading - i believe anyone who has for any reason deinstalled rear bumper could have mixed the connectors thats why on this forum i found i think 2 topics with question - which should be located where.
anyone has 100 % assurance the bumper is in orig - never deinstalled and lamps never messed so can say where he/she has placed the fading bulbs vs non fading bulbs?
Thank you, I have sent the pictures to the person who sold me the lights on Alibaba. I will try and check to see I can track down a PS19W light and see if it fits. From what I can tell so far from a picture I saw, the PS19W only has two tabs, but the light socket appears to have three tabs needed.
On the sensors, has anyone found an aftermarket supplier for the sensors? I believe the one that would work is the 3D0919275E based on this discussion. But I am trying to determine if someone else makes it. Possibly Veno, which I have an email out to. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-required.html
i’m hacking the thread just to ask if anyone knows were is the darn reverse light fuse !
I ve read all doc online and paper but no fuse ..,
I’m pretty sure the contactor on the gearbox is not directly connected to the battery…
but all 3 boxes fuses are ok but I have no +12v on both lights 🤬
Thanks for any idea
Hello @Yoann6 ,
As you have said, I also have found no fuse dedicated directly to the reverse lamps, but other fuses that also go to the Rear Body Control Module, such as stop lamps (CM) that feed to the RBCM, same as for the gas lid release, and the bootlid release, open and close, these all go through the RBCM.
So eventhough your taillights / turn signals, and brake lights may be working, I would check all fuses that tie to the RBCM, starting with number 59 in the Facia fuse box.
Then I would verify power at pin number 22 in the 23 pin plug of the rear body control module itself, (pin 22 is a black and blue wire), this is, with everything plugged in, and the shifter in reverse, engine not running of course, if 12 volts is present at pin 22, then I would, or you could check here first, the 14 pin plug at the rear exterior up behind the bumper, pin number 13 is the same black and blue wire to the reverse lamps, it is only one wire that is later spliced into two to feed each lamp in the bumper loom.
Good luck !
Johnny

WOW ! You’re amazing!
even with the schematics ! You should open your own Bentley Garage !
If you want to move to the Riviera , MP me …
I’ll be happy to help and return the favour
btw where did you found the electric plans?
is that from IETIS ? I searched online but no luck
I’ll try this asap. I’m going in Italy with a stop at Bentley Firenze for maintenance, they took care of the car from day one … so , I’d be better served than with the jerks around home… ( not the ones in monte-carlo , pretty serious and square there, but their planning is full for weeks, and i prefer not to wait longer with last year maintenance skipped )
