New Wheel On and Recode Ok but Cant read TPMS Error

Well all after a very long time i finally got round to installing my new 3 spoke Supersport wheel. It is great! If a little bright against my cyprus green 05 GT! I used a VCDS to recode the cruise ok but I am struggling to get it to report any TPMS faults which is displaying on the central instrument display all the time and at start up. Funny thing is my Ben Hur is reading the pressures ok! Error was not their until months after fitting that!. Any idea??

Hi Darrenre ... Wheel looks cool don't know about the orange tho.
So your saying the Ben-Hur was reading the TPMS but now its not or have I got the wrong or have you got a fault on the wheel, it worked on the new wheel but now it stopped displaying the readings from the thumb wheel to the Ben-Hur or the screen in front ...

Ok...your having trouble getting VCDS to read any error code related to your tpms, because it’s giving you a code on the middle display but your Ben HUR is reading the tire pressure....is that correct?

Post a picture of what your tire pressure is reading on the Ben HUR, I wondering if one of the tires is low but you think it’s ok. You will not get a error on the Ben HUR...just whatever the pressure is at the moment. You have a 05 so it’s safe to assume you don’t have a spare right.

Hi All thanks for the Posts. I can't comment on the wheel price, they are not cheap! Sorry for confusing everyone with my post. Should have been much clearer. The wheel is great and the Ben Hur has been fitted a few Months. I have all new TPMS a year ago and also a new ECU for the TPMS. The car is an 05 so has the original orange space saver spare (unused). A few months back the Warning came on for TPMS Failure and it shows every time at start and is in the photo i posted on the central display all the time. When i check pressures on the Ben Hur i get 4 readings showing. I then get the on off option and with the next press the target Pressures (the first readings on two wheels are about 0.1 bar off). I will post the images tomorrow. So my question should have been how do i either see the error causing the warning on start up or clear it to re start? I do not get the option to re code or see any error code when i use the VCDS. Thanks Again Darren

Just for good measure, go into VCDS and clear all code even if you don’t have any. Let us know if the light went out. Then drive around as normal.

Check the TPMS screen, it will have an ! in a yellow triange next to the wheel that it has a problem with. One thing to check out for is too much pressure. I got a warning and kept upping the PSI, only to realize it was above the threshold. Once deflated to within range, and then re-calibrated using the on-screen settings for this, all was good.

edit. sorry, see you replaced the stock with Ben-hur, so you won't have those screens. However, do check for too much psi, as that will give the same warning.

Lol come on Sam the Ben-Hur does show the PSI's ok not like the stock screen but still one can't have everything on a upgrade ...

Good to know. No experience with the Ben-Hur but sounds like a great unit. Was just correcting my prior post with the point being that too much tire pressure gives the same error.

Even on the stock screen, there's no indication whether it's too high or too low, just that there is a problem. As a result of the lack of information on the stock screen, it took me a bit to realize the actual problem.

One more thing... you can check pressures in VCDS with the following measuring blocks:

MVB-001 - Left Front
Field 3 = Actual tire pressure
Field 4 = Specified tire Pressure

MVB-003 - Right Front
Field 3 = Actual tire pressure
Field 4 = Specified tire Pressure

MVB-005 - Left Rear
Field 3 = Actual tire pressure
Field 4 = Specified tire Pressure

MVB-007 - Right Rear
Field 3 = Actual tire pressure
Field 4 = Specified tire Pressure

Hi Sam ... I was just having a laugh with you mate, you are right tho the Ben-Hur screen is a little to small for my liking when driving one has to squint to read the screen ...
