Air Suspension Replacement UK

I've had a good read through the threads on this, but wondered if it might be helpful to have a dedicated UK thread for our availability and pricing.
The options we seem to have are
  1. Main Dealer approx £5k per unit fitted
  2. Arnott rebuilt OEM unit with raise lower and ride sports/comfort
  3. Arnott's own unit with raise lower but no ride adjustment.
  4. Ebay units, approx £200 a corner, with raise/lower and ride sports/comfort
Happy for people to come up with further suggestions and give feedback on their experiences of the above. I have used Arnott on an L322 and found them to be excellent.

I have had just this dilemma and as the car in my mind is not worth that much money I opted for the cheaper eBay version and I have to say I was impressed it took about 40 mins to do and the heights on either side match perfectly and the ride is fine. Personally I don't think it's worth paying out for the arnot struts on a car that's worth under 20,000 they have a 12 month guarantee and splitting the old original shock there is nothing in them but a bag and a damper. The shocks I bought supposedly also have the active dampening in them. This is just my opinion and my choice but so far so good

Has your suspension kept pressure when left for extended periods? ie not sat on the floor?

Mine is fine no leaks and took it for a really hard drive around the country lanes to test and personally I think they are a good buy. The seller was good as at first they did send a leaking unit but sent me a new one straight out. Although it was a pain it was quickly resolved and the cars running great

Thanks, I'll have another look at them. Such a massive price difference to the Arnotts.

They were from maxspeedingrods go direct to them as many sites are selling their same struts for a massive markup

Flying spares are a massive rip off and still charge premium prices for parts that can be bought at a fraction of the price stay away from them unless absolutely necessary.

Oh really, I have not bought anything from them yet but seeing them having some stuffs I might need in the future. Thanks for your feedback. I will double check somewhere else 😁 but how do you think about the Bilstein strut?

Agree .....most of there prices are eye watering and with a little searching suitable alternatives can be found else where on the Internet .
