It's not a good idea to mix viscosity's. But, in a pinch and given the 2 choices, the 5w50 is the closest. Depending on how many quarts you are low. I would think about changing the oil soon, and stocking up some factory oil to leave in the trunk.

thanks, I was short a quart and I replaced it with 15w50 just 1 quart... I haven't done an oil change in about 4,000 miles? I got about 6,300 miles now. you already know M's suck up gas.

I'm gonna get a full oil change soon.

Hey KTown,

Center BMW on Van Nuys in the Valley sells it for about $15/liter as opposed to BH BMW who tries to sell it for $24.

exactly my point Nicky,
but price doesn't matter to me, I could care less, especially since I just needed a pint to get to orange county to pick up my other car.... hence why I couldn't have it overnighted.... it was something I needed yesterday.

thanks....
driving to van nuys and deal with traffic period isn't worth $150 to me. I live less than a 1/2 mile from bh bmw.... but F them too. lol they weren't open last night
