E46M3 v. E46M3 CSL - What are the exact differences?

I've been searchin on the net but can't find an exact write up on the differences between both of the cars, engine wise, suspension wise, etc. Can anyone help me out?

I believe the CSL has ~10 more horsepower and is a bit lighter due to weight-reduction modifications such as the carbon fiber roof. The CSL only comes with the SMG transmission, which I think may be slightly modified for better performance. There's also the differing trunks.

Off the top of my head:

- CSL has a SICK CF motorsport airbox
- CSL headers
- I believe the CSL runs Alpha-N software
- CF doorcards
- CF roof
- CF fixed back racing seats
- no function buttons on the wheel
- different bumper / trunk
- I'm sure there's more.......

ok-

the CSL has 362 hp-so 19 hp more
it weights IIRC 242 lbs less than a standard m3
it uses Alpha N software as opposed to the standard software
it has a different and more agressive set of cams
has a full CSL exhaust-different headers, cats and exhaust
different airbox
different suspension
different wheels-size and style (aka ZCP package except front wheels are actually .5 inches wider in the front on the CSL compared to the ZCP)
has a gutted interior
different front bumper, different trunk and diffuser, carbon fibre roof with no sunroof
only came in SMG
only available outside the US

these are the main and big differences, anyone add whatever else if anything major i left out.

Now as far as the SMG goes, are there any differences as far as the composition goes? And the Alpha N software, is that something that is attainable (is it different tuning, or is it a different unit?).

weight, power, different intake, headers, ecu program, CF bumper, plastic trunk, CF diffuser, CF roof, radio optional, CF interior accents like console, door panel, SMG only, Recaro Alcantara Seats, Alcantara interior accents if there is more, feel free to add as this is all I can think off the top of my head

As far as I know Alpha-N = MAP based (speed density aka no MAF) and has a different intake manifold and lack of airbox...Try Wikipedia...or searching M3Fs, I'm sure someone's compiled a really detailed list...

But is it just programming? Or is it a completely different unit?

You can get the csl delimited from the factory. Need to prove its for track use though i.e. holding a racing license

Don't forget you can't put anything heavy in the trunk, the trunk floor is made out of cardboard...

and when you took delivery, you had to sign a waiver stating that you knew the car had semi slick tires on it
