You're not leaving the key in the ignition overnight, are you?

If you bought it new from a Porsche dealer check with them - there was a bad batch of batteries that came to the US a while back...maybe you got one.

Also, you can put a meter on the battery - after a couple hours you will see a small current draw, which is normal (to maintain the clock, etc.) - anything more than the norm and you have a problem...your dealer can provide the norm draw numbers.

Also, when you are not using your car be sure to lock it and not leave the key near the car. And a battery maintainer is a sure way to avoid problems, which connects the cig lighter.

I have some specific numbers on the normal current draw at home - I can dig it out tonight if you like.

Curious to see what was causing your battery to drain.

You would hear the pump running if it was staying on, Its pretty loud, especially when the engine is off.

Someone mentioned leaving the car locked. I heard that leaving the car unlocked will help save the battery. Anyone know which is true?

The dealer told me to save the battery, leave the car "locked" and to not leave the key nearby. Also, the car will go into "sleep" mode after a few days and if so, you'll need to unlock the door via the keyhole.
