Oil Change

I'm new here but can imagine there probably has been countless threads here in the past about oil changes...my question isn't about what oil to use, but rather how much to use...How much does the Cayenne Turbo take? I need info on an 04....someone told me it takes 12 quarts but wasn't sure...that sounds like a LOT of oil...I just wanted to make sure by asking here. Also, is the Porsche oil filter the preferred choice around here?

While I'm asking questions, where is the AC cabin filter located? It's a very cheap part and should be very easy to replace if access to it is not a pain in the a**...I'd rather do these things on my own than have a dealer do it and charge me crazy amounts of cash.

Thanks for your replies in advance!

No one is answering you because it such a stupid question that you could have figured out on your own if you read the manual.

Hey, it takes around 9 qts of oil. I did it on my S, i bought 10 qts b/c that is what the dealer recommended and i think I only ended up using 9 qts, saved the 10th for top ups.

and on a side note, porsche recommends mobil1 0-40 type oil.

ps: people need to stop calling other peoples questions "stupid"....not ALL of us are as technically knowledgeable as the rest on our cars just yet, took me a year before I could help out other forum members. Common, we're better than that.

Send me a PM (private message) with your email address, I'll email you a copy of the owners manual--I have an electronic version.

Thank you for the info. do you know if the Turbo takes the same amount of oil as the S? considering they are both 4.5 V8s, I think it should be the same.

I will e-mail you for that manual...thank you.

I don't understand this "stupid" RFTM sentiment around here....did it ever occur to you people that the person posting may not have the manual? At least ask before making idiotic blanket statements.

RTFM has been around for years on every single car forum, Don't take it so seriously. Did you not check for a manual when you bought the car? If you got it from a dealer, have them give you one.

Back up. While I can appreciate the need for advice, it is quite another matter to take up time asking questions that are a waste of time for someone to answer when there are so many great resources for a person to access on their own initiative. This forum has a search function and there are other forums where such a question has been asked and answered many times. A little peer pressure to encourage someone to learn how to use the site and the search function is not out of line. A search for "Cayenne Oil Change" yielded at least 4 viable answers to the question on the first page.

Stupid can be defined as annoying or irritating; troublesome: I stand by my statement, it was a stupid question.

I did use the search and didn't find a SINGLE thread that talked about the quantity of oil used in Cayennes...you made a reference to the manual, not the search function (which I used). Either way, I don't have a manual to refer to and from the several threads I read on oil changes, I didn't find out how much oil to use...it probably is buried somewhere....but that would have been very time consuming, so I simply asked...sorry it was irritating for you.
