PROBLEM with my CS
PROBLEM with my CS
Has anyone had the problem of the car shaking back and forth a little and jerking due to a leak or something in the fabspeed bypass pipes or maybe because of the exhaust system? Is there a significant loss of backpressure or is it something else because when I am in 4th or 5th gear and I tap the gas pedal, the power delivery is interrupted by jerking. This problem has been bothering me and I just dont know exactly what to do. Thanks in advance for all your input.
Nothing to do with the exhaust going by your description. It sounds like your eGas or DME is not working right. Make sure the dealer has your car up to date with all the service actions.

Jon, Jamy,
How about the Sebring exhaust? is that made for cayenne specs?
Dont know anyone who has the issue with bypass.
I feel bad, Jon bought the bypass from me but I agree with Mudman because I didnt have the issue with my S. Let me know
Jon, maybe we can get Joe from Fabspeed help us...

I'm pretty sure its not the Sebring exhaust because I have had that over a year with no problems:its Sebring tips with custom JKL mufflers. As for the bypass pipes, they were fine for the first month but all of a sudden I had this problem. Could it be that I was slightly hitting speed bumbs too hard and the pipes got loose? Because when I am standing outside the car, I also smell the exhaust gases from the right side of my car and I dont think the smell was that strong before. I took it to Porsche service and they said that they checked everything besides the exhaust and since I did not have a check engine light in the first place, that this problem was not there responsibility. Hopefully I can get this issue resolved.

I had the fabspeed bypass pipes on my 04 turbo. Experienced similar problems as above. car fel like it lost power and also had a herky jerky feel to it! pulled off the by pass pipes to learn one was cracked! Not sure if that was what caused the problem but i could get no help from fabspeed when trying to resolve the situation. Ended up throwing them in the garbage. I put the stock cats back on which resolved the problem. A few months later i upgraded ecu and added high flow cats. i never looked back!

Joe G, did you replace the main cats with the hi flow cats also or just the secondary cats where the bypass pipes had been? if so what company makes them and where did you get them?
