Is the X5/6 4.0D that much quicker than the cayenne? I just bought a 2013 Cayenne Diesel. looking to get a little more out of it. I have read pretty much every thread I can on this car....

I've not. I purchased my CD end of July '15 then the diesel fiasco occurred shortly after. I'm putting it off till I see the resolution.

I bought my 2013 CD early August instead of my E92M3 because of a second baby...
The BMW 4.0d is 313hp/600Nm in stock form, our CD 245hp/550Nm and the gearbox slower.
I went to it because already own 2 Pcars and am very close to my CPO, and it was my wife's choice...
In despite very nice and comfortable it felt to me a bit aslept.
But sincerely this module set E6 wakes it up and it becomes more light and "player" at driving.
I have to run it with a friend following to be sure no black smoke under load, if not I can fine tune it to E7 or E8. (or lower it to E5, I hate black smoky diesel cars!)

Mine will be here in a few days - I'm looking forward to it! Has anyone towed with the box in place? With such minor changes in boost and rail pressure I can't think that it would be risky, but once spring comes I'll definitely try to monitor EGT's both with the BSP installed and bypassed.

Probably try the E7 setting to start (not towing)..

Does seem like minor changes but if it really makes ~50hp and ~100ft lbs that's a huge difference.

I'm considering ordering one, seems like a decent upgrade for the money and its easy to install and remove.

I run the Blue Spark set E9 for almost 2 years now.
No smoke, no issue at all.
I sometimes bolt it off when the car see the cpo (1 minute job once you are used to) and feel the difference; not night and day of course but clearly perceptible, the shifting is also a bit better probably because better load management.
The MPG at the dashboard is biased with the BS on as the fuel pressure sensor is. I didn't noticed any true difference in MPG, always 600miles with a full tank (100liters option).

I tried the CDS recently (V8 twin turbo diesel) and was a bit disapointed: if the Blue Spark gives one step level performance to our V6 the V8 is only the same step further, no more in despite the huge torque difference. (550Nm to 850Nm)
It makes me thinking the 300hp/650Nm are probably achieved with the V6 "box tuned".
If I upgrade to the CDS for sure I will bolt a Blue Spark on it

Hope that helps.
P.

hum, corrigendum:

I just tried another Cayenne V8 diesel S and was a pretty surprised this time!
The car is very fast, much more responsive vs my V6 and reaches 150mph like a charm on a german highway.
I bought it! (CPO, Porsche Approved)
I even ask myself if not already tuned so am going to see with the Blue Spark staff before bolting a box on it.

porscheconvert is on a distinguished road
Just installed BS on my 2015 diesel. Definitely faster and a little quicker. Noise is rough...

Not sure if the wife will keep it yet. Question: anyone know a setting that significantly increases throttle responsiveness?
