So I backed off one map (worried about injector longevity), and dialed boost back to 7. Sounds much happier now, and no limp mode or other errors. All in all a worthwhile increase in usable power for not much cost.

Jason pinned my Gen2 box at Map8 and set the Power Adjust at 5. Lots of grunt off the line, almost like a big dog straining at its leash. I'm having to make a conscious effort to throttle a bit less aggressively away from stop signs and lights. Fuel economy a couple mpg less than anticipated - about 32 initially - although that's likely gonna get better when I retrain my right foot. No lights/warnings/codes, but I've not yet experimented with Maps or power levels. My experience with the Gen1 box was that - unless there were some immediate negative results - I'd typically give one combination of settings about half a tank before forming a conclusion.

Could someone post some boost curves using an aftermarket boost gauge to see what the increase in boost is on level 0 (off) and levels 5-9. I am curious if the jumper changes the boost or the rotary ****.

Monitoring the EGT's at different power settings would ensure that the power level is safe.

I would like to know what the OEM numbers are for boost curve and EGT's

You can monitor the EGT yourself, via the OBD2 port. OEM numbers would likely have to be obtained from Porsche (or determined via OBD2 with BlueSpark disabled). The five position jumper (A through E) and the rotary switch work in tandem. Consider the jumper as the coarse adjustment between economy and performance, and the rotary switch as the fine tuning control for each coarse adjustment.

I have a Durametric cable and software which can log boost, AF, just about anything from the factory ECU and 14 CD on order. I am planning to put this box in and see what changes happen in logs.

Sadly that is not true with the 958s

It can read/reset codes, reset SIs, and run some tests. No coding or live data...

whoa you are right. just checked and there is no logging of Actual Values on the 958. that stinks.

I get live data with a wireless iOBD2 module ($65) and the associated iPad/iPhone app (free). It reads/resets/deletes fault codes from memory, but cannot reset the Change Oil Now alert. No coding/recoding capability either.

Am now able to reprogram Gen2 boxes on a limited basis. Turns out There's a bigger difference between Porsche Euro-mapped ECUs and North American-mapped ECUs. I have the adapter cable and BlueSpark software to bring NA-spec closer to Euro-spec, and still keep it street legal. I'll reprogram for free, you need only cover shipping

Cool. Any info on the differences and what the reprogramming does for you?

Better acceleration, improved fuel economy. Settings are A thru E, each varied with a power potentiometer from 0 thru 9. As before, zero (0) is the null setting; bypass mode which reverts the car to the factory map. I've set mine at the high end, E5. On a 105 mile trip to Nashville last week, I saw 37.8 mpg as I rolled to a stop at the bottom of the exit ramp. Don't have the means yet, but I feel 0-60 times are a full second lower - if not more - than the advertised 7.2 (factory). My iOBD2 is not currently working, or I'd have a real world figure rather than a best guess.

Sorry, I know you've said those things about the G1 vs G2, but I was asking about the differences in the G2 from the delivered config and post reprogramming. Or are you saying it's that much more?

More. Again I was the 1st North American customer. As delivered, the Euro vs NA discrepancy was discovered. After reprogramming, performance and economy drew much closer to Euro
