opinions on the interior of the 458?

Supposedly designed with M. Schumacher's help, the interior is rather unconventional by ferrari standards.

I have only seen a few pictures, but it looks like a video game console?

If the car drives sensationally (which I'm sure it will) these points become nearly irrelevant.

Any opinions on the interior?

It's contemporary for sure. I'll need some time to get used to some of the new styling elements. As it stands..

I like the additional steering wheel mounted controls. The wheel itself looks a bit chunky, but it's nice, especially in carbon. I'm not too fond of the air vents (weird shape) or their integrated control modules (looks a bit Japanese-style to me).

The Scuderia-style seats are nice, as are the new door panels. The center console is sharp, too. The contemporary LCD/analog gauge panel is fine, if a bit gimmicky. The gauge cluster hood looks ok, but not great.

The first thing that popped out at me was how drivercentric ALL of the controls were. The passenger really will be along just for the ride with the 458.

G997 is infamous around these parts
I keep looking at it and it seems kind of George Jetson retro

I guess I need to see it in person...

its missing a gated manual shifter

I don't think the interior styling will age well. As for performance, Ferrari never disappoints.
