base gt-r 7:27 @ 'ring (on spec-v wheels)
Not the majority... A pretty small minority, from what I've seen... A smaller percentage of people that would be able to differentiate between a 3-series and an M3, as well as a Carrera 2 and a Turbo.
And are you trying to say that if I get a Nismo tuned ECM (that adds a couple lbs of boost), that's it's easy to compete with $1million+ cars?
Not bad for $83k ($80 for the car and $3k for the tune).
^ That statement is even giving into to your theory that the 'ringer' has more hp.

Why not go cheaper still and get a base corvette and add twin turbos, those things should be able to run down million dollar cars for allot cheaper. A tune and upping the boost in a FI car is very easy, thats not the point though the point is to run very fast stock. If Nissan wanted to use a ringer then heck why not include a blown civic or a twin turbo V8 miata.............just present them as showroom stock cars.
Well the Nurburgring car was indeed a ringer, so far I havent heard of any stock GTR kepping up with a ZR1 on a high speed straight line test.

Funniest thing so far today...
There have been so many lies by Nissan that is unbelievable, so many that I forget. For instance no one remember the 124 mph trapping supposedly stock GTR. For some reason, strange I know ...not one has ever trapped that fast again.
If its relatively easy to pick up unnoticeable hp in a N/A car how easy do you think it is in a turbo car?

Hey, I just wanted to tell GTR owners and fans I appreciated their support while posting here. Unfortunately, I was also posting in the Porsche forum debating the GTR's ring times, and was called Noob, "part of the fast and the furious crowd" and since I have drag raced in the past "that kind of person" by Porsche lovers.
They made it personal and now are attacking me because I threw it right back at them, and they don't like anyone talking back unless we agree on their undying love for all things Porsche.
I've never been to any car forum with such attitude and snobbiness. I can no longer stand to even deal with people such as this. They come in to the GTR form to post nothing but "NISSAN is LYING and CHEATING" but they expect you to stay out of their territory.
They can think that they've beaten me, but trust me guys, it isn't so. I just can't stand the attitude anymore.
Everyone here that has a GTR or is a fan, I wish them well, have fun with your cars, I do envy you! I would suggest nagtroc.com or gtr.co.uk. They have a much more polite userbase, even non GTR owners.

I prefer NAGTROC.com, or mygtr.com. This is where real information and experience gets discussed, not magracers and people with conspiracy theories, that have no proof (I'm not saying they are wrong, just unfounded).
I don't underestimate a difference of opinion, but sometimes people here take it a bit too far.
I'd pretend to care, but I'm too busy getting my car ready for my next track event...
I hope the transmission doesn't explode, or my car doesn't overheat in 4 laps, or my VDC 'off' launches between laps breaks my clutches, or merely taking it to the track voids my warranty, or that I'm going to get lapped by Walter Rorhl in Porsche 911.
We'll see what happens... I believe the wife and I are going to enjoy ourselves for three days in Kentucky (Bluegrass Motorsports Park) for three days, giving the car double duty on track, then we'll drive home, and I can take the car to work the next day.

59 posts total...all in the last week...all about the GT-R on a Porsche board. I take your statement to heart...really.

I hope so. If you had spent more time here, you'd realize I respected his experience with the GT-R enough to extend him an invitation to Road America on my dime.
