You're cementing the fact that you, monaroCountry and heavychevy are only on here to do one thing. Bash GTR's no matter what facts are presented. If you can't even conceed that the GTR is an amazing car in this day and age, there's no hope for you as a car enthusiast. That's what I am.

I don't think the GTR is the end all be all of performance cars, but come on, this bash session on all things GTR is getting pathetic and rediculous.

I don't have a problem when a perfomance car is faster or better than mine. Big deal. Porsche owners, apparently, cannot deal with it. Sad...

 

Charlie, I'd agree with your point. Well said. I don't like people generalizing me (was called part of the fast and furious crowd because I own a Supra Turbo and Mazdaspeed 3) in the Porsche forum, so I should rise above it and not generalize them either.

Maybe we don't. But the rediculous bias is pretty obvious, and I don't need to be here that long to figure that out.

I already said that I don't think the GTR is god. But when all those two do is bash it, like it's their only goal in life, it gets rediculous.

 

No bro. Most of the guys have very light mods like Hawk DTC pads and some R-compound rubber. My car is definately one of the more modified ones out there that is not a dedicated race car. I have a base Z51 LS2. I'm not trying to spread hate here, but if you take a z06 or an LS3 Z51 on hoosiers, you are going to be just as fast as a GT-R on Hoosiers.
Both of our cars come with run flat tire, but GM went with the Good year F1 that has a 300 treadwear rating.

I dropped 3 full seconds by switching from the F1s to Michellin PS2s (not the CUPs). I dropped another couple of seconds by running the Toyo R888s (treadwear rating 100).

 

That's good to hear, and I totally believe you. Like I said, I don't think the GTR is the car for all time or anything either.

I hope you really don't believe Nissan's car was making stock power levels when Pobst couldn't come within 5 seconds of an ACR with a STOCK GT-R on a 2.23 mile course.....

Can anyone explain that? Why don't we stick to a known track, with known stock vehicles and a known driver (Randy Pobst). The GT-R doesn't look so invincible now, does it?

Fantastic weight distribution as every other manufacturer in the world that has tried has been handed losses in ALMS, Speed GT, SCCA, Rolex GT, etc. Rear engine is not necessarily a handicap.

To the non automotive types, that GTR is as desirable as a Maxima whereas a Porsche is desirable to most everyone.

 

I'm engaged in discussions daily with numerous people about what kind of car it is, and what is it called, how much I like it, where I got it, etc...

Everyday, everywhere I go.

Just yesterday, I was taking my sons to an awards banquet, and a guy in a motorcycle stopped to take pics with his phone, another guy turned around just to follow us to the restaurant just to say,'nice car', and I'm constantly getting positive comments from people who either know, or don't know what the hell it is. We get questions at almost every stop light, even just sitting in traffic, people will stop short on traffic lights just to pull up next to us and give a thumbs up or something.

And I've had the car for over 9 months, and the reactions are still the same.

I'm curious as to what you're basing that comment on.
