Again this is a sports car (though some say it is satan) and we should expect tire wear, a stiffer suspension than a cadillac, and noises that arent normal on a car of this type of mechanics. All in all its no different that any other car of its caliber.

The Gt-R fanbois really need to stop drinking the "KOOL-AID" !!!

Nissan's GT-R may be a lot of things (some good/some bad) but....

by any realistic definition...

The GT-R is NOT a Sports Car !!!

Curious... What IS your definition of a sports car, that the GT-R doesn't fit?

So where does a stock GTR beat a ZR1, Enzo or ACR? whenits braking, cornering and speed isnt up to scratch? The only possible area is 0-60 from a standstill...............BUT they do a flying lap around the Nurburgring.

Sports Cars have always been 2 seaters. GT cars can be 2 doors four seats though.

So Porsche's claim for the GTR should be taken more seriously than HVS's time simply because the "bulk of the reviews" for the GTR was around the "7:50's"? There was only ONE(1) magazine review of the GTR that was around the 7:50 and that was done by Chris Harris on Bridgestones and on a damp track.
Negative. CAR magazine got a 7:51 out of a 2010 GTR in their test against the 997.2 GT2 (subtract 5 seconds for the pit straight to compare to SA times). SportAuto clocked a 7:54 in their first encounter with a 2009 GT-R. Porsche claimed a 7:54 for a U.S. spec 2009 GT-R.

Then what is it? What is your definition of the car? What is your definition of a "sports Car"? I guess your ZO6 embodies all of those sports car capabilities? Would you prefer me to call it a super car like Nissan has? I guess a 997tt that has seats in the back is not a sports car either?

I know its fat, a ringer, etc.etc...

This is really stupid.........and has nothing to do with kool-aid or being a fanboi. I am not a 20 something year old fanboi caught up in the mystical clouds of a GTR. If it does not exibit sports car behavior then what is it? Its being discussed, compared with other "sports cars" by everyone including you and being driven on race tracks around the world as a sports car.

I guess a true definition is a GT tourer or GT sports car since it has 4 seats.

Stop being foolish and bashing every bit or word about the car. I think you need to get off the anti Nissan **** bus along with some others in here who feel it is your mission in life to "protect" the" innocent " drivers from Nissan.

Just be real and again as Germeezy has said let the car speak for its self. Kinda hard to speak for it from behind the keyboard or by reading about it from the internet. I could understand all of your comments if you really experienced the car by driving it and even sitting in it but alas most of you havent even touched a GTR in person.

Since this thread seems to go nowhere and loop back over the same crap even when it is disproved or proved I wont post here any more. Always Negative-Nothing positive, nothing to benefit the GTR community and always a fight. Tired of the retoric and constant misinformation from the random Porsche owner that pops in. This thread past the first page is a waste of bandwidth
Just about every thread contains GTR bashing in any and every form

Have fun but this is getting old and sounds like a bunch of tennagers arguing about whos dick is bigger. Or better yet like republicans and democrats. Its just a bunch of plastic, rubber, and metal-Its Just a car

All the Chevy Guys need to put more effort in saving GM from their BK instead of bashing the GT-R. Personally I'd rather have GT-R over any Corvette Anyday of the week. With that said the GT-R is pretty finicky it seems with my friends experiences with his. And the Nissan warranty is a Joke its literally the most embarassing thing about the GT-R. So in Reality if it came down to it Porsche for me At least they encourage using the car as it was designed. Even if the GT-R is 20seconds faster on the Ring then a Porshce Turbo at least when you're done in the Porsche you still have a warranty. If Nissan changed their dumb policy then I'd be all in.

After what they did with the R33 and some very questionable ring times...............no one trusts in Nissan, apart from their hardcore fanbois.

What is different about the warranty on the Nissan than any other car?

I track my car (also auto-x, and drag), and I still have a warranty. Perhaps I'm missing your point.

Define "no one." Does that include the 2400+ GT-R owners in North America that have helped Nissan meet their 2009 target sales number?

What does "trusting" a company have anything to do with the car's performance? I'm not seeing your point either.

I've been enjoying a great ownership experience. I've modded/launched/tracked my car, and warranty stuff has never even been in the conversation. What else are you suggesting that could go wrong because of mistrust?

No manufacturer warranties a car if it brakes down on the track. Nissan doesnt warranty your car if you dont pay large amounts of $$$$$$$ after every track outing (it doesnt matter if it brakes on or off the track).

Gid you get the Nissan approved inspection done after every track outing?

Everyone including the publication that Nissan used to first publish its report (AutoCar). Boy you GTR fanbois are deluded, first it was the 270hp Nissan R33 achieving the same time as the 550hp CTS-V, now its the 480hp R35 achieving a similar time to the 638hp Corvette ZR1. Fast and the Furious sold plenty of movie tickets too, it still doesnt mean that its a well made movie.

Well to put it bluntly, Nissan lies about it performance numbers to attact the guillable.

I think you're mistaken. I didn't pay any "$$$$$$$" after every track outing. What "$$$$$$$" should we be paying?

Gid you get the Nissan approved inspection done after every track outing?
There is no approved inspection done after every track outing here in North America. You may be confused with the policy of JDM GT-R's about removing the speed limiter while on track. Don't worry, it's quite common that if you don't own a car, or know any facts about it, you might be mistaken about everything you think is right.

Who really gives a sh*t about review numbers except magracers? Other than that mature crowd, I'm sure people who buy these cars like the real numbers that this car is getting for themselves - not somebody else.

How does that make my wife's first ever run down the 1/4 @11.48sec any less significant? Did nissan lie and say it would only do 11.7 to sell us a car that can run 11.5?

That's just bad marketing, and I thank you for warning us owners about the 'fudged' numbers this car is giving us. I guess we shouldn't expect too much in "One Lap", or around any other track in the world driven by anybody else in the world. We could just sit here and listen to your speculation about your conspiracy theories at the 'Ring, that you have zero proof of, because you were never there for any of the tests done by anybody, anywhere.

If you have no PROOF that Nissan lied, you are assuming. Take the first 3 letters out of the word and what does that make you? Tell you what, come back with proof Porsche-icles, and then let's talk. If you don't, man, give it up.

Yeah I agree with you, apparently adding weight is the new way to build a sports car? I actually am going to suggest to the Vette guys that track the cars to start adding weight. Lets see if they add about 800 lbs they should start lapping even faster?
