base gt-r 7:27 @ 'ring (on spec-v wheels)
There is a huge difference between the ZR1's off the rack PS2's and the ACR's Pilot Sport Cups, then you add in downforce ( adjustable ), lower torque and adjustable coil overs and it makes the Viper have more rear grip.
A fundamental difference between the cars, the ACR being a hardcore track car than can be driven on the road. And the ZR1 being the worlds penultimate hyper GT car that happens to be amazing on the track.
Remember also math never lies....so the facts are the facts. But as I said only a bumbling idiot would buy a car based on " Ring " times that may or not be true from a different continent!

Who the hell are u supposed to be. THE Anti NISSAN **** crew?? Please you are not going to stop someone from buying a GTR just because of all your google links and talk. If they want it they will get it. Its not your choice.
Nissan more than anyone has all its credibilty to lose if these times are not of a stock car and I am sure everyone in the world will make a mockery of them if and when this is done.

Nissan is lying about the GTR, they didn't go from being dishonest about the R33 time to all of a sudden being honest about the R35. But as you said you bought the car aside from its " Ring " times so its really irrelavent wether Nissan is lying or not.
And truthfully all jokes aside, anyone who uses Best Motoring as real and true evidence should be tarred and feather and forced to drive a 3 cylinder Geo Metro.
The real title for them is Bias Motoring...

Yeah I wouldn't rely on BM completely, but its fun to watch. And if we really get down to it, there are alot of biases with every tester. I always say that Sport Auto is biased towards German cars, particularly Porsche.
Nissan's created their own problem by taking a two door-four passenger semi luxury sports coupe and trying to turn it into a supercar. The fabled 7:2x.xx lap times have drawn unneeded attention and scrutiny, resulting in doubting Nissan's integrity.
Reliability is questionable, warranty issues abound, published performance figures were generated by abusing the car (launch control), and using those methods voids the warranty.
When manufacturers (Porsche) and car magazines question Nissan's published Ring results and add in the warranty issues (GM), Nissan's credibility becomes questionable.
The GT-R (as a road car) achieves outstanding results, Nissan just over-hyped it's suitability to compete with true sports cars.
The GTR was built as a supercar from the ground up using a new platform, unlike the Z06 or ZR1 which are derivatives of the regular corvette.
The GTR has being kicking Porsche and corvette butt in 'real life' events so far. Its performance speaks for itself. You anti -GTR boys can flame away all you want but at the end of the day - result is all that matters.

There's not many sportscar that weight close to 1.9 tonnes aand look that ugly.
The GTR has only been kicking Porsche and Corvette when it was provided by Nissan. Currently at the ring Nissan has lost to the Porsche GT3, Porsche Turbo and Porsche GT2.
Wow this thread continues to degrade a purpose built chassis that isn't based on a lowly world beating sports car.....but weighs 3800 lbs...anytime a clean sheet sports car weighs that much the designers and engineers should be shot.
And yes the GTR has been kicking the 997's and Z06's butt, in service cost! Anytime I can buy a 638 hp car with a 100k warranty, but a 483 hp car has no warranty if you do the things normal sports car owners do...that tells me too much of a compromise for less performance.
And you should tell those GTR owners who keep getting stomped by the change rear tires and run 10's Z06 and the 10 second stock ZR1!

The almighty GTR and the debacle its company created

The GT-R (as a road car) achieves outstanding results, Nissan just over-hyped it's suitability to compete with true sports cars. This is the most intelligent and reasonable quote that I have seen in regards to the "smoke and mirrors" performance created by Nissan.
I also believe that it should not detract from the fact that Nissan has created an incredible (albeit "chubby") sports touring car.

It's very simple , to get a 3800 lb car to perform like a supercar...even though its rival is a self admitted relatively heavy hyper GT car requires trade offs. In the GTR's case its maintenance cost, and decreased reliability.
The GTR's amazing albeit fragile GR6 gearbox with really, really close gearing and amazing AWD traction with R compound tires and onobtanium fluids to minimize friction make it perform in a manner under 100 mph that compares very favorably to its competitors.
The Z06 and ZR1 are not rivals for the GTR anymore than the GT3 and GT2 are. The GTR's direct rival is the 997 TT a car they admitted to benchmarking and drove side by side with development cars. For some the tradeoffs to get a relatively heavy car to perform this way are too great.
Physics don't lay down or change for anyone or any automaker. Which is why the Z06 and ZR1 and GT2 once traction equalizes perform on a different plain than the GTR. The GTR is an amazing achievement for what it is a GT car prodded and poked to perform like a super car. It's simply a choice that you make doesn't make the GTR owner or Z06 or 997 TT smarter or dumber for the decision they made with there money. For some like me I prefer lightweight and RWD, so the GTR isn't the car for me.

-The past 3 Targa Rallys in Tasmania which were won by GTRs was not provided by Nissan. The GT2 driven by Jim Richards which lost to the GTRs 3 out of 4 times is provided, backed and sponsored by Porsche.
-GTR won the OneLap.
-GTRs are beating Porsches, Ferraris, Corvettes etc etc at track events all around the world MORE than Porsches, Ferraris and Corvettes are beating GTRs.
These are all 'real life' examples that naysayers have all been asking for. These are not 'Nissan funded' and 'biased' magazine reviews that all the haters have all been preaching about. So what are the next excuses?

Whether or not Nissan provided the Targa cars is a moot point IMO due to the configuration of that race vs. the length and speed of the 'Ring.

The GTR was never intended by Nissan to compete with the GT2. It was intended to compete with the 911 turbo.
It was only after comparisons and reviews were coming in showing that the 911 turbo was of no match to the GTR that people started using the GT2 to compare it with. That is an unfair comparison. Apples to oranges.
The GTR is the BEST in it's class as far as 2 door, 4 seat sport coupe go, and like i said before, 'real life' results is all that matters.

You my friend are a real class act, last time I checked the real " Ring " time of the GTR is slower than that of the Z06. And please enlighten me how the GTR makes a joke of these said cars other than by lies?
