Gallardo or F430?

Yep........no comparison.

Jeremy is this laughing because you don't believe him? You should spend 5 minutes in a Lambo before you respond. The R8 is a better car for 40-60k less. It's a no brainer.
As far as Ferrari vs Lambo it's not even a close second as I told Jags I'd rather drive my GMC Crew Cab Diesel on a run than any form of Lambo

Mark, why don't you tell us how you really feel?

I'll let our board certified Ferrari evangelists, Mark and Kuzi do the preaching about F-cars. My only advise is to go and test drive them before purchasing. These are driver's cars that are more subjective to your driving style and personality.

I don't want to get into a you know what measuring contest. But of course you have to remember everything is subjective. I personally prefer the Lambo, even though I prefer that last bit of rawness that cars like the Scuderia has left. What I do know to be fact is that the LP560-4 does perform on a different level than the F430. In fact its much closer to supercars a class above.

Haven't driven the R8 personally but from the responses that I have heard from press and friends that have. Confirm what has been said its a softer more GT version of the Gallardo. I personally think the Gallardo isn't as extreme as I would like it to be, except for the SL. So if the R8 is the softer, gentler version no thanks.
I lay awake dreaming at night for a LP 560-2....

Yes I have, but really it was hard to get over my utter hatred for E-gear. Supposedly there have been revisions made, I suppose in truth I would like the R8 better.
But it would have to be a manual model of course. I am sure with the economy early Gallardo's will fall into my range as well as R8 V8's in the next couple of years. The only hard part is what do you do when the car feels slow?

What do you do when the car feels slow, mod it!

Personally there is a lot of bias here regardless. The only way you will know for sure is if you drive both back to back and not just around the block either. I'd line up some time on a weekday when you can run a similar course and then just go with whichever you prefer. I drove the 560 and it's a definite step up from the older Gallardo and the reviews have all been solid, same with the 430, so it's really not possible to go with what people post here because they are not the same as you and likely won't have the same driving habits. The two are designed with very different philosophies and until you jump directly from one to the other it's hard to notice the little stuff from memory.
