Panamera vs. Quattroporte
Panamera vs. Quattroporte
I am strongly considering trading my Maserati QP for a Panamera.
My dilemma: I like the exterior of the Panamera, but, sorry do beat a dead horse, the rear end is a bit quirky. The interior of the Panamera blows the QP away. In addition, I hit my head on the sunroof track enclosures in the QP.
I have plenty of rom in the Panamera. I am also considering a Rapide.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I'll admit that the rear end is a little 'unique', but that's one of the reasons why I love the look of the car. Plus, the design emphasizes the rear quarters of the car, adding to the muscular stance with those wide tires holding the ground.
I'd certainly agree with you on the interior, as well as mention the flexibility of having the rear hatch for odd-/over-sized items.
But probably the most important factor: the driving experience. I don't think either of the other two can quite stand up to the dynamics and enjoyment of the Panamera.
So there's my 2 cents...

Yeah, I ought to pull the trigger. It will be my daily driver and I want it to be perfect. The one I am looking at doesn't have Burmeister or seat ventilation. I am trying to work a deal on existing inventory because I am going to take a bath on the QP.
I own both...PTT and QPS. QPS is the wife's but I had my share of drives in the QPS. The power difference is night and day. The QPS is pretty bad in the rain, even with Traction Control. Unless you select ICE, the QPS's TC system seems very "lagging" in terms of response. The QPS's infocenter system is pretty bad as well and I never understood why Maserati placed the heated seat controls on the bottom part of the seat fronts. The one advantage the QPS has over the PTT is the "harmoneous" sound of the exhaust....such a sexy sound, the PTT's sound is, well, eh at best. The PTT seems to have more rear leg room as well, but the QPS can seat 5.
You won't regret getting a PTT. I too didn't get the Burmeister or the cooling seats, too bad Porsche won't give you the multi way (forget if it's 20 way) powered seats with cooling option. I too had to take existing inventory car so I didn't get the Burmeister, PCCB, or PDCC
but got every other "functional" options I wanted. Oh, I can't believe Bluetooth is actually an option.

The Quattroporte is a Maserati, but in reality it is a lame duck compared to the Pana imho.
P.S. The Burmester audio is a must if u ask me. the world´s best audio company in my book and u can now get them in a car, even more amazing!

Those are very cogent responses. Yeah, it sounds like the Burmeister is rather desirable. Regarding performance, I am not really interested in a turbo. That's what the Ferrari is for! I suspect that the muscle will be about the same as the QP with better handling.
Getting close to a deal. They found one for me with all the goodies (ventilated seats, Bumeister, etc., etc.). We'll see if they can get a hold of it and get it to me. I am falling out of love for my QP.
I was deciding between the qp, panarmera, m5, and s63 and I chose the QP about a month ago. I bought the Quattroporte and don't regret picking it up at all. I couldn't get over the panamera's station wagon look. It just doesn't look good to me. The QP is gorgeous the interior and exterior are what sold me. I wasn't looking for the fastest sedan I could find just the one with the best compromise between luxury and performance and the QP won. Another observation I noticed, around me I see bentleys, porsches, aston martins daily but I rarely see another Quattroporte.
The QP is a very nice car and so is the Panamera. It's all just about personal preference. If I were in the market for a new car and my choices are those listed above, I'd probably go with the Panamera.
The Quatroporte is in the league (speedwise) of a MB E500, so its no race car. I have to admit though that it looks good. I personally like the looks of the Panamera also. I have a 997 TT,so my experiences with the Panamera come only from test drives, but I would take the Panamera Turbo over the Quatroporte anytime. Its MUCH faster and the AWD is just perfect, if you dislike the RWD.
