My rough idle was diagnosed as bad engine mounts. Dealer wants $2K to replace both. Anyone have any experience with DIY? Parts are about $300 each online.

same here. bump for the post. A PTT I am looking at shows small sign of hydraulic fluid leak from mounts. Want to know how difficult of a DIY job it is.

 

This is apparently a big job that requires partly dropping the sub-frame to get access, so I am told.

Had to bite the bullet and pay the dealer and it now feels like a new car again.

 

Just had it done at the dealer which cost $1665 plus tax. Which was cover under my Fidelity warranty with $250 deductible and they also change the sway bar links for both side cause my car was feeling a little lose and i thought was the control arm issue again, car runs solid again after mounts and links are change. Attached is the service receipt and had all the parts number. hope it helps.
