Amazon sells them also. I saw reviews on the Unity website and searched on Amazon. Seemed like a huge delay if through Amazon. The Unity website unityap.com (down right now for some reason), has an application guide with stock status. Check there and order from Walmart if in a hurry. It was suppposed to arrive on the 11th but there was a delay. (I only ordered the right side because the left was not leaking with soapy water test.)

I’m not out of the woods yet but I’ll update as soon as I know more about how well they work. If you order from Walmart easy returns I guess you don’t need to wait to order....

I've been working with Ron at unity whos the QA/Returns Manager for my struts. They are completely out of new strut assemblies and it doesn't matter who you order from, Walmart, Ebay etc. They can get you rebuilt units which have new air bags, fittings e.t.c. both carry a 1 year warranty. I'll update after i get them. If you call and talk to sales ask for Marcelo.

Thanks for this info. I wasn’t quite sure what their warranty was. I guess since it has two electronic connectors it falls under the electronic device warranty. I’d say bummer that they are out of stock, but I’m going to wait until we can drive the car and verify all is good....

I held off on the PIWIS clone I was looking at, partly waiting for your news, and partly because seems like it would not be able to make keys. I think I’m trying to think of too much but I don’t want to have regrets like in the past. My first purchase was a Toyota XHorse clone, then I eventually got a Mongoose Pro from Drew Technologies....

Just got news (while I was at the vet), that the Unity strut leaks in two places. I told them to order the OE Porsche parts, I'm throwing in the towel...

Hopefully different for you. My price just went up by roughly $600, not including the $295 they want for an alignment. My favorite shop did the alignment for about $70 last time IIRC. I told them I’d be bringing it there for the alignment instead....

Sigh...

Another $825.50 penalty for trying another aftermarket strut, finally got the car back. Noticed a creaking sound from the front right on hard suspension impact, I was not recommended lower control arms nor stabilizer bar. Drove straight to alignment shop with a stop at a gas station in the middle. Shop only charged me $60 to align. Seems like the alignment is not difficult on this car. I explained about the strut replacement and the alignment guy said it wasn't bad.

So what were the struts you ended up buying? I thought in your previous post you mentioned getting OEM.

The Independent shop I used was House Automotive in Pasadena. They say they only use OE Porsche parts which they purchase from a dealer I believe. The two days it took to get the bag coincided with what I was told by the nice parts guy at DTLA Motors, two days to get them in.

I only changed the right front bag and upper control arm per their recommendation. Car has 44300 miles or so.

So has anyone actually done a replacement/swap of just the air bellows onto their original strut? With prices of an all new assembly (bellows and strut) ranging from $1100-1400, I'm back to considering getting the bellows separately and swapping mine out.

It seems all these rebuilt bags from several companies are still causing issues for people. FVD appears to have brand new, non-remanufactured bellows priced at $587 which is significant cost savings.

what issues have others had with RMT? I have recently had RMT Struts installed and have a horrible knocking noise and the car feels like it’s stiff as a board. Wondering if the struts are defective.

I'm sorry to ask this, but I'm not very fit so to speak. Did you get a chance to weigh any of that stuff? I'm not sure I can handle them. They look heavy!

Thanks for sharing this DIY! My wife bought this (non-turbo) car at a HUGE savings over new, but it is a little on in age....

I'm on my cell phone so hope I link this thread properly:

I didn't dare buy a RMT unit after reading that one, besides realizing ciaka had to return one

I had the nightmare with RMT and it sounds like you may have issues with your control arms if knocking sound, but I did have multiple issues with RMT and would never recommend them

My only RMT issue was shock would not inflate (Front pass side). Shipped back, was overnighted new one and had no issues since.
I do know of others on here who have had issues with RMT.
