-Stock or modified? Virtually stock; no performance improving mods, but have used upgraded OEM parts to replace originals due to failures/maintenance (ie- 710N diverters, 997 coils, etc)
-Are your lines pinned, welded, or original? Pinned
-If pinned or welded, was it preventative or due to failure? Fitting failed under normal driving conditions on freeway within 100 miles after first track day.
I posted earlier that I blew a top coolant line while out on the track at Indy. Thankfully no injuries/damage to anyone. I did have the coolant lines pinned. As an aside, one of my best friends has several Porsche vehicles including a 2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S that he had the coolant lines pinned 2 years ago. He is part of a class action suit against Porsche & received documentation that he is going to receive some type of compensation for the repair (completed at a Porsche dealership). Is there any other info out regarding our cars (GT3, GT2 or TT).
I forgot to mention that my 2003 996TT has 20,8xx miles on it.

Luckily Mine failed when i was pulling out the engine to change a tiny o ring that had failed on the top.
Had approx 120k miles on the clock.
Welded in some torque solutions fittings. If you havent done and u drive ur car as it was intended id be seriously thinking about getting it done or at the very least having the parts on stand by

Hey Tim,
Haven't done mine yet.
Good to see you back on here, get well buddy.
Cheers

I have a 90,000mile 2002 996TT. I bought it recently, and probably didn't do quite enough research on common issues for the model prior to purchasing (got to the "it doesn't have the IMS issue" and moved on).
The vehicle had a number of owners and I don't have totally complete records. Is there an easy way to tell if the lines have been pinned/welded? Are any of the junctions easily visible by just opening the engine bay? Any suggestions as the easiest one to look for?
Car is stock other than lowering springs right now. Speedtech 3" just shipped. Tune shortly after that is planned.
The fitting next to the coolant hose may be the easiest to see. Here is my engine after I had pinned the coolant fittings. You can see the head of the allen head screw in the circle. Basically you should see a screw or weld in this area.
