New track toy...

Bought it for $4700. It has a harddog rollbar, Kirkey Roadrace Intermediate Seats, harnesses, Sparco wheel/removable hub, Koni Yellow Coil overs with Racing Beat Swaybars, Jackson Racing CAI/Header, Borla exhaust, and some other goodies I'm sure I'm missing...
Should be fun to play on track with this thing... pretty peppy and gokart like handling!

Nice car , Congrats! Must be a lot of fun. I have been looking around for some track setup e36 325i , havent found one yet. How much hp does that car make ? what's the weight?
I am just getting nervous tracking my 996tt , dont want to risk blowing a motor or wrecking the car . Thinking of picking up something like this.

This car was scaled at 2288# without driver in the car. It's making about 120HP (up from the stock 93HP) due to some tuning, the free flow intake and exhaust work. What impressed me with it was the throttle response. This thing handles like a go-kart. The Koni Coil overs and Racing Beat swaybars are really working the aggressive suspension setup. You can't see it much in the pics, but this thing is sitting on about 2 degrees negative camber...
I'm going to be at VIR on Friday and I'll take the Traqmate to get some data, and probably the camera to get some footage... I have no doubt I'll be able to read chapters of War and Peace while going down VIRs long straights, but we'll see how much grief I can give the faster cars in the talent sections!
My oldest Son bought one of these back in May, and we were discussing building it into a specmiata to do endurance racing with... Now we have TWO in the family... UHOH! I bought it only to get me by while the 996TT has a tranny overhaul, but I must admit, tracking/racing on the cheap is very enticing...Basically you buy one set of pads and one set of tires per year... I could live with that... Not sure I could live with the lower speeds on bigger tracks!

Great purchase! miata spec is all about your race-craft! love driving those things especially on some good tires. I was going to trade my rx7 for a spec class unit but could not find time to fit the entire season of racing.
Nice choice. I would recommend trying to join mazdaspeed for discount parts. You may have to show race results before you can sign up. They know how to take care of their racers.

First time tracking the car was very interesting last Friday...
Had one rain session, three full sessions in the dry on street tires and street brakes. This car is FUN FUN FUN!! The car is easy to toss into corners, and should prove as an impressive track day and weekend back road toy... Every time I drive it, I grin ear to ear!!
