Clunky sharp turning when cold

I've noticed that when I wake up my 991 and it is still very cold, 3-point turns feel very bumpy and funky when the steering is at its extreme...almost as if the wheel is catching a mudflap, or the brake-hold function is repeatedly engaging and releasing. Once the car is warmed up I can no longer reproduce this effect.

Have any other 991 owners noticed anything like this?

Further searching has revealed what appears to be my problem.

The fronts have a lot of caster and the cold tires are scrubbing on 45 degree turns until the tires warm up and get flexible.

"Working as intended"

Sorry to change the topic-but how is your car doing Eric? Are you enjoying it? My cab should arrive in another 2-3 weeks.

Hasn't been cold enough to experience any thing like that. Will let you know how it behaves in 140 F this summer.

These threads all cover this fairly extensively and seem to confirm with confidence that it is not a defect, but is indeed "working as intended":
