"Online Services"
While browsing the Porsche.com site (fantasizing about a 4s model) i saw a reference to 911 Accessories that was not there when i ordered my 991. http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/91...etail/comfort/
if you scroll down you will see "online services" and a reference to an AHA app,
The app is available on the Itunes web site and is free. Now, the porsche site says that
The free AHA Radio app enables you to listen to internet radio, news feeds, podcasts and audiobooks on the PCM via your smartphone. You can also receive local information, e.g. weather reports, in the form of voice announcements. Points of Interest can be searched for and then transferred to the navigation system as destinations. Internet content is received via your smartphone but you operate everything from the PCM. Online services can only be used in conjunction with the standard-fitted universal audio interface (iPhone) or the optional mobile phone preparation or telephone module (Android phones). The AHA Radio app can be obtained from iTunes and the Android Marketplace.**
It tried this...while I can hear it on the Aux bluetooth channel of the PCM...no dice on searching, transferring or controlling through the PCM...i called 1800 Porsche and spoke with a nice young lady who tried to help me...took my tel number and promised to get back to me...anyone out there know how to make this work?

The P website you reference says not available before November at the earliest. P is not listed in any of the press releases on the Aha site. Clearly there is a an OEM (P) side that has to happen for the touch screen to become available for use. P usually cuts things in by model year with no interest in prior year updates so we will have to see how this rolls out. You can hear what your phone is sending the PCM over BT because it is using the BT audio profile. There is a control profile that needs to be in the PCM that allows the PCM to turn into a remote control for your phone. That is the piece that may not be fully exposed as of today.
Bump.
Now that this is available, has anyone tried this 'online services' feature and have info to share? It says it can work with the standard fitted universal audio interface (iPhone), so does that mean even the cars are set up to use these online services? I'm assuming this would require some sort of software updated.

I added it to my order, scheduled for delivery late Jan early Feb. It was a cheep option and honestly I just wanted the PCM configured in case they added more stuff to it down the road. Some of the things Porsche says it will do might be nice like the points of interest or the weather reports but the rest I can already do with my iPhone and Bluetooth.
I'm sure someone here that has a Dec delivery might have it and can provide more detail. If not ill post when my car comes in

If it can help. I have Online Services on my 2012 Audi A8L. When the test subscription ended, I did not renewed it, because the service was provided by T-Mobile and in my area only Verizon works well. I still have to go to Verizon and check if I can get a SIM card for it.
Basically, it was just Live Traffic, and very basic web information. Oh, and Google Maps with the trees....not worth the headache for me. The most valuable feature was turning the car into a Wifi spot, but in the end, my iPhone and iPad Data service with Verizon was faster.
I hope it helps

Its not bad, you can stream using bluetooth, but you don't get the touch screen functionality via BT. At least thats what I've found with my limited time playing with it. My only issue is that I don't like my iphone hooked up via the glove box. I've been meaning to use and older iphone and a mifi to play with it further, but havent gotten around to it yet. I did find using the yelp functionality on the nave screen useful on a couple road trips.
