PSE install in NJ

Looking to install PSE in my C2 from a Porsche dealer in NJ. Wondering if anyone has had a good experience with a dealer install and would recommend? I know it is an install that must be wired into the electrical system and console. I just would feel comfortable knowing I was not the first PSE install by the dealer.

have the dealer do it. A base needs to have wiring installed, seats removed and someone who knows how or can easily find out how. I used Porsche of Delaware..if you are willing to travel, Jack is my car's mechanic and he did a great job. PM me if you want details.

I have a C2 and the PSE is a significant improvement over the base exhaust.

Is the PSE always on in a C2? I was under the impression that only the S can toggle it on and off.

(personally, the standard exhaust is aggressive enough for me...)

No it is not always on if installed with the button. It comes on when the button is pressed or when the Sport or Sport+ button is pressed. And it is actually quieter that the standard muffler when in quiet mode. I added it after a year of ownership and love it- adds to the already excellent 991 sound track yet is not a buzz bomb like so many aftermarket systems.

Did Porsche of Delaware complete the install in one day? I understand it takes a trained mechanic about six hours? Sound about right?
I agree I would only have a Porsche dealer do the install, just for the warranty issue.

I believe they did. They always provide a loaner. Six hours is for an S not a base. Base takes longer.

Are you a PCA member? If so dealer will most likely give you a 10-15% PCA discount. Total PSE package installed should cost you about 3500-4000 for parts and labor.

I bought from Jack Daniels. They have been good. But I asked about a backup camera like Michael S had installed and they never got back to me. I called Town Porsche. They were very responsive. It is being done Friday. And even though I did not buy from them and this is not warrantee work, they arranged for a loaner. I would not do anything like this with anyone but a dealer during the warrantee period. Give Town a call.
