K16- K24 Turbo Swap
K16- K24 Turbo Swap
I bought a pair of K24s from a fellow 6speeder and was planning on having Pacific Porsche do the swap for me.
The shop foreman said it would be 15- 20 hrs of labor!
Furthermore, he said unless the cams were changed, that the K24s would only produce about 25 more HP.
Does this make sense to anyone? All the reseach and reading I've done makes it seem like a pretty straight forward switch. Never heard that about the cam shafts needing work also.
I was planning on re-flashing the ECU afterwards- already have exhaust, evo wastegates and DV's.
Thoughts Gentlemen?

15 hours for just a turbo swap? That sounds like they're trying to rip you off.
Once you've removed the bumper and dropped the exhaust, they're pretty well exposed. 5-7 hours tops for someone who knows what they're doing.
I'm also pretty sure the cam thing is BS. I'd find another shop.

pacific? nice techs but seem to go by the book. they had problems diagnosing some simple issues on my turbo which I eventually handled myself after getting the royal run around and wasted time.
