Top Gear Tests the Nissan GTR - Stigs time...
I usually let your comments slide but not this one.
The ZR-1 gained over 2 seconds in the early stages of the lap, from then to the back straight, they ran toe to toe around all the corners, the GT-R had:
#1 No speed listed for you to make an assumption that it exited that corner faster, while the ZR-1's speed is listed there.
#2 No evidence to support it since they went the better part of 13 miles with nearly identical cornering speeds if the ZR-1 wasnt faster. The only part the GT-R would have been faster is when Mero messed up and threw his hands in the air.
#3 Even still, they would both likely be over 100 mph when exiting the corner, which is exactly where the GT-R falls flat and the gearing sucks.
So no, the old exit speed addage doesnt have ground to stand on this time. Plain cheating, and you know it. It's more likely that Nissan used better gear ratios and more horsepower.

Listen to heavy schumacher he knows all about these exit speeds and everything about cars and racing!! Have you not seen his tv programme heavy schumacher's guide to cars and talking sh--te, its brilliant!
Well, I know I've seen him on a race track, at speeds that would drop a stock GT-R... So I'll take his word over a bunch of internet commandos any day!
And one more thing... If Dez did a TV show, it would certainly ROCK!

I have run with him on the track and he has the reflexes and ability of any driver on the track anywhere, knows his stuff, knows his cars, and shows up at the track to walk the walk, not talk the talk like many many bench racers around do.

Just ignore the Ireland D guy, he makes nonsense posts after me because he's getting a GT-R and cant come up with anything intelligent to counter my arguements. So he's just butt-hurt.
LOL, I have a juicy story on an invitation I got to be on Overhaulin, but I dont know who posts here so I'll leave it out. Nothing to do with Foose though who's one of the coolest people I've ever met.
Wait till you see me on a track I'm familiar with......

Wow, thanks man, I had to re read the first part to make sure it was me you were talking about.

I'm going to take this quote and put it on my steering wheel.
Yea, What I'm amazed with is all the posers who will talk ****, but never ever in a million years get out on the track and realize how much they suck at driving, no matter what you drive, then get over it and learn how to drive.
Until I see one of these GT-Rs on track, I won't have any respect for it... If I get footage lapping one of these fans in one, I'll loop it and run it for all time... You fans out there will want to hunt me down and put me out of your misery because I'm telling you, when it happens, I'm going to be more than you can stand... Your mental ************ over this car is creating a scene you don't want, trust me!

actually the one Nissan has been hyping must be their ultimately fastest version since they claim it to be 0-60 in 3.2 and the REAL ONE does it in 4.1 with a 1/4 mile of 12.6. That is no faster than a stock 996tt and it makes sense given the power to weight ratio.

Half the magazines have gotten super times with the GTR the other half with a not so super time
. Those drivers that couldnt reach Nissan's hype are also very good at their craft one of this is HVS who is regarded as one of the best Nurburgring drivers another is Steve Sutcliff with years of experience around the ring (it's not possible for the GTR to beat a GT2)? Also how can Alain Prost again one of the best racing drivers ever not do well with the GTR?
This is what Horst von Saurma from SportAuto had to say............
"With all the electronic aids the handling is absolutely perfect, the driver doens´t feel how the drive-by-wire system really works as the GT-R stay on track like on rails, always has grip, doesn´t lose control, higly computerized and a perfect racer for the street. A time less than 7:40 is pretty much optimistic, 7:50 shows the true potential of the car.

I'm wondering if the GT-R Prost drove was supplied by Nissan, as is the case with most of the other road tests that have been done. If so, the time he got probably does not reflect the performance owners will get here in the states. We may have a lot of unhappy GT-R owners. Just a thought...

i'll respect your opinion... but i stick to my own.
