Injectors...
Injectors...
Hello guys...i ve just bought and installed a set of k24/18gs.I am about to buy some injectors as well.My question is how difficult is to replace the injectors, without removing the turbos and the engine...Is it possible?

why? I have the same set up, dynoed at over 600 hp with 85% injector duty cycle. I dont think it is necessary??
You made over 600hp on factory injectors, and where only at 85% duty ? What dyno was this on, sounds a bit high to only 85% from what I've seen, especially given the current heat/humidity here in FL.
also really not my point. which was this set up is pretty good and I looked into the whole injector thing and was told by multiple people smarter than me (Todd, Protomotive) it wasnt needed. has he told you different?
I'll be at Sebring tomorrow if you are coming down?
Sea and Air at SRP (or something like that) and that was 528 rwhp to be exact.

We've got a race an ADRL race in Ohio this weekend with our race cars so unfortunately won't be out at Sebring, I'm hoping to make it out there next month for the PBOC event but have to see what the schedule allows.
I thought you meant 600 wheel hp, at which point the 85% duty cycle would be very difficult to believe without injectors. At 530 I do not think the injectors are necessary, however if you're looking to make a bit more power and you're already dropping the engine to install turbos, my new belief is that the injectors might be a cheap safety net in the overal big picture and allow for easier additional power upgrades down the road. My next car will get these when I do turbo upgrades to it.

catch the PCA night DE next month!!
Skandalis-
I changed my injectors (rails and plugs too) yesterday- you can do it without dropping the turbos, IC's etc...you will need to lower the engine 2-3 inches though, which is much easier than it sounds, good time to swap motor mounts (I have some X73s for sale:-).
You will have to remove the fuel filter and air intake pipe on the driver side, need to remove the Y pipe and then air pump on the passenger side. Driver side is relatively easy, passenger side more complicated mostly because of the wire harnesses in the way. This will take you a good part of the afternoon, but plan an entire day in case of uh-ohs and have someone qualifed there to make sure you dont fubu.
couple tips- let car sit overnight to discharge fuel system, engine cool down and otherwise lots of fuel to clean up. Use vaseline or porsche lube on injectors, this will help installation quite a bit. Get an extendable magent and mirror, you will drop things. Dont use a jack that leaks... be patient, have fun.
To be honest my turbos are out for repair as well as intercoolers, heat shields etc, but this had no difference on the injectors and rails.
