Is anyone running a Methanol setup on the 996TT?

I'm interested to see how people have it ran and what they did with their tunes to factor in the meth.

My idea would be to have it on a HOB's switch that would come on at 19-20+psi (for me at least) to be safe on my higher boost settings. I should be fine at 17-18psi or so, which is my usual pump gas boost.

I'm trying to think of other things to do to be safe when I am running higher boost. Even if when I do build the bottom end I want to do whatever I can to play it safe.

I am adding a fuel pump while everything is out so I should be good for about 700-750rwhp with Meth and the extra fuel. I want to see how close I can get to Jaimes record for a stock bottom end Porsche

 

We have 4-5 996tt's running it at this point. I also have another one on the schedule for an hsf1 install and tuning.

tony , you had said a while back when you did liek 1-2 cars you would give us more info on this ... are they fouling plugs up ?give us some details .i would be interested int his as a safetly measure.

At this point, lets just say this....I will personally never own another turbo car that doesnt have water/meth injection installed.

 

Horsepowerfreeks has been running meth on their M3 turbo kits. I have seen videos and dyno's of the cars with and without meth and the results are impressive. I have not heard of anyone having fouled plugs. Also seems like a fairly economical way to run higher boost.

 

Eagerly awaiting these results. I'm looking for an excuse for a new project to play with.

 

yeah i know that pretty much every turbo app. is running meth injection . i had it on my evo and loved it.

i was/ am amazed that its not popular with the 996 tt's. and i just couldnt understand why, i figured well.... all these great tuners out there know about this , and if they are not using them on these cars there must be some reason....

but hell, if there no issue i would love to run this on my car .

That's exactly how I feel. I have spoken to Tony about this and I think it will be my next HP upgrade, as well.

Michael, that sounds like a great plan. If you bring your car, I would love to drive the 16G's and see how they are...

But I am probably going to make it a spring '09 situation. I just plan to drive the year out, and enjoy the car for the fall season before winter sets in...and I want to hit the track with this set-up before I do any more work to it.

this is how i feel about it, any car that can have meth injection, i install it on...its just that good...i got tired of replacing o2 sensors from running c16 on the street...
