clutch problem
clutch problem
Hey guys having trouble getting car into first and reverse. I have a GT2 conversion with the slave moved over to the other side, it's always been very stiff and the engagement is right on the floor. Could it be that now the clutch has some wear and its just not disengaging all the way? With the car in gear at idle with the clutch in it kinda shutters like it's dragging and the car slightly moves forward. I read you might need to add some length to the slave push rod to change the engagement point to make up for the case not being machined for it to sit in, would this help or is the clutch just toast or worst my transmission? thanks for any input.
Adding a little length to the rod will probably fix that...also make sure your fluid is full and you have a braided steel line.

Thanks for replies, slave is brand new and secure clutch pedal is solid no play it has always been very stiff much more than any other that I have felt with the conversion done. The clutch is one of the UMW LWFW kits. I'll try the lengthened rod if that doesn't work have to pull the clutch and see whats going on.

It definitely got bled, maybe the clutch just needs to be rebuilt, I forget I have almost 40k miles on this kit with the turbo upgrade and tuning. It probably doesn't owe me too much more
Just a update; Finally put in a lengthened rod made a big difference engagement is perfect and I can shift into 1st at a stop, which is nice
