Need to add coolant...

I read through ALL the postings regarding this...and am still confused.
I know I need to get "pink" OTA and if I 50/50 it, I should use distilled water.

My stupid question is... will any OTA quality coolant work?...and if so is a Prestone / Peak or GM or ? made one cool to use? I don't want to make a trip to the Porsche dealership this weekend. But if I have to I will....

I just noticed the tank is below minimum and want my baby to be happy, and not to have to freak out about what coolant to put in.

G12 coolant I use audi/Porsche oem. You will hear a lot of other opinions lol. I would not use the one size fits all approach but that's me.

it's "OAT". OAT stands for Organic Acid Technology and it's not "if" you 50/50, it's a designated 50/50 mix. coolant and distilled water, though if you are low it's always safe to add distilled water to bring it to level. i also use the oem audi/vw g12 coolant as i have two cars that share it and it's equivalent to the porsche oem which is the same sh*t only branded porsche and consequently more expensive.

if i were you, and didn't know when it was changed last? i would flush it and begin anew. don't thank me. lol

I always check the big online venders and also do a search on G12 then pick the best price, but be sure to consider shipping.

Yes any OAT coolant will work so long as that is what is in your car.

Here is what the usual debate turns into.
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...confusion.html

But here is a more complete answer
http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars...oducts/1272436

Mixing these different types of coolants does not create some weird science chemistry explosion; it just takes some miles and time a coolant is supposed to last. On other cars with brass rads it could be worse to use the wrong coolant but that is not a Pcar.

That is a bad test with the copper wires as the new OAT coolants are a huge NO around copper or brass. His results are tainted just in that point alone.

Seriously; the chemistry that goes along with the subject is huge especially when you start adding in contaminants from both the environment and automotive by products.

My usual answer to questions like these remains the same.

Pick a quality product that is intended to be used for your application (in this case Aluminum components) from a quality manufacturer and then stick with that product. When in doubt change it more frequently!!!!!
