So is this a bait tactic? Because it's either a subdued (LAME) story or a bait tactic. If the later, just come out and make your statement instead of hiding behind a, "He tried and lost." story.

But I will say 2 well maintained cars on a limited access, straight, dry road having a contest of speed to 115+ could be considered safer than a rush hour commute at 75mph.

Not if you park really close to the entrance and next to a beater.

I would personally take it to the track where you can actually display some driving skill during the "kill". You also won't be endangering anyone on public roads. I must be getting old I guess. Heading back to the library now...

You can't argue taking a car to the track is the safest & most responsible thing to do. I can't stand the guys who are weaving in/out of traffic type racing.

Buuuuut ....I have no problem doing a pull on a clear stretch of highway where you're not gonna potentially endanger other drivers and passengers.

I agree but still fail to see what street "racing" proves? That you have the skill to mash the throttle on a car with more power? That you could pay for a larger turbocharger? Put a sweet old gray haired grandmother in a Veyron and she'll blow away anyone on this forum in a street racing contest by the mere poke of her cane. And then she could brag about it at the assisted living home later...

+11111

Any sort of speed around other cars who don't expect it, and are not used to it, is dangerous. However, out on the OPEN road... come on... You can do a little pull.

Nothing worse that some dank subaru/honda swerving in and out of traffic like they're so high performance... I get a ticket for 72 in a 60 and then THOSE guys never get pulled over.

P.s, I did a pull vs a prius once, killed him EASY.

That one car is faster than the other. Not as much skill as the dragstrip, but it is competition.

Ever race at the dragstrip?
