For those guys waiting on me to post thank you for your patience. Sean and Kyle at silly rabbit motorsports have been working hard all week on top of other things they have going on to get this done and installed.
All set and clean like he wanted. All they have to finish is the plug and play wiring harness then comes the stage two with the full line kit front to rear end rails. They are working away.
Sam,
Just to clarify. Will they be offering a single Walbro 450 version that would use the stock fuel lines? What is the eta? My engine is coming out for a rebuild in two weeks and I would like the single pump version by end of January. Thanks for the updates.
Thanks. I was just doing some research regarding which tank set up has the jet pumps and which doesn't. From what I've found out: 996TT has two jet pumps 996GT2/GT3 with standard 67L tank has no jet jumps 996GT2/GT3 with optional 90L tank has one jet pump 996Cup with standard 90L tank has one jet pump
Gt2/3 street tank I have is 17 gallon and had basket with one jet pump.
Mark is right. All-wheel-drive cars with the factory tank will always have 2 jet pumps. The 2WD cars only have one putting a little bit less strain/draw on the pump. So if you go to will drive and change the tank you can have that benefit and more fuel capacity. If I remember correctly when doing Boxster endurance racing the 996 GT3 fuel tank had the largest capacity.
Yes the system as seen would just have one pump inside on the other side empty. That should be ready to go within a week or so all we need is the harness completed. Pushing for some inventory to take care of whoever needs it. Pricing will be pretty reasonable for a great clean option. Best part is you can expand on it by adding the second pump and then lines.

That's what I thought but TabooPc above said that he and LQQK took the fuel basket apart and there are no jet pumps on his standard GT2 tank. Both were pretty adamant about that. Doesn't sound right to me. If you look at PET, it shows a single jet pump for both the GT2 and GT3. Even my shop said there needs to be a single jet pump to get fuel to the basket from the back of the tank under acceleration when fuel level is low. Confused...

The only thing I can think of with taboo's gt2 is that it had a standard 996/boxster surge tank and pump installed.
When max got the car at 7k or so miles it was stock, and when we pulled the pump out it didn't look like it had been tampered with, but as you can see in the photos, it doesn't have the jets.
doesn't make sense for the gt2 /3 tanks to have any jet pump. the only purpose is to push the fuel up out of the saddle area which only the awd cars have. with a flat bottom for the 2wd cars i just don't see the need.
i also think the overall length of the gt2/3 pump assy is longer than the awd setup since it sits lower in the tank than the turbo setup which sits above the hump
sam why did they change the electrical connection?

A cup tank is identical to the 90L GT3 tank if I'm not mistaken. It definitely has one jet pump. I've been told it's there to pull the fuel from the back of the tank under acceleration with a low fuel level. I would imagine same would apply to the gt3. I would imagine Porsche engineers saw a need for it otherwise it wouldn't be there. Why would PET have a part number for the GT3 jet pump if it didn't exist? It's 996.620.113.90 for the GT3 and 996.620.113.80 for the GT2. The TT one ends in .00
Just wanted to provide an update. Sean and Kyle I working very hard and it's closer to the finish! Staging for 10 kits very soon.
Can't find a connector for the factory plug so what do we do?
Make one of course! I love these guys. Few days we and should see that as well. Kit stages and pricing almost here. Should be very attractive and worth doing especially being plug and play.

It seems unlikely that the 996/boxter surge tank would be the same as the gt2's though. They re-engineered everything except fuel? Doesn't sound right.
Yeah... its pretty strange that its the only account of having no jets. It was new looking in there though.
I can't say I'm a fast track driver, since I've only done 6 track days, but if 1.4 bar coming out of a corner doesn't starve fuel, I don't know what does... So far I've even driven the car to pretty low tanks and it doesn't have any issues with starvation.
The return fuel line dumps back into the basket, so that provides some sort of surge protection. Todd never saw any signs of fuel starvation when tuning my car, and I run 1.3bar to 4k, and 1.5 bar above 4k...
PS: Sam those parts are beautiful. I'll gawk over Craig's if he ends up getting them.
