SSHRUM - can you provide them logs? More pics? Etc, etc.

The backfire/pop you heard was MOST likely due to the turbo failure! Keep fighting for a full replacement just like m_motorsport received!

Which, I'm guessing, is the ONLY reason they did a warranty replacement.

And I'm not saying they're wrong to have a strict policy, as there are plenty of horror-story tuners out there that could screw up the installation and try to leave Tial holding the bag. When turbos fail, they tend to fail big and sorting through the mess to find the exact cause is like a freaking NTSB investigation.

I suppose the takeaway here could be "Always be logging!" Especially for a long while after any upgrades until they're all nicely sorted.

Yes! ^^^ I agree, logs would tell the REAL story about what's really going on they are hard to dispute.

This is exactly one of the reasons why I am having a Motec data logging system installed in my car as we speak. It is able to record up to 300 channels of both analog and digital inputs including everything you have on CAN. It's basically a blackbox for your car. You have several hours of memory which can easily be downloaded to your laptop at a later time for examination and trouble shooting.

Agreed. I datalog full time i have a laptop mounted running durametrics so this does help troubleshoot. If i thought my turbo failed due to my own wrong doing i would just buy a new one. From tials point of view they have no way of proving but the data logs did help

To OP sshrum- my sympathy- that really ******* stinks that your turbo blew! I hope you get your car up and running very soon. I appreciate you sharing this with the community.

Does anyone know how common this is? Any prevention tips? I am thinking of upgrading turbos in next year...
