I had my shop do something similar but I think they ground down just enough for clearance in the middle section instead of cutting above and below to try and keep as much strength in the part as possible.
Yep, that's the link I was thinking off. Thank you.

So I removed the liners and looked at the radiator brackets to figure out a game plan. Looks like removing "meat" from the metal bracket is the way to go instead of cutting and bending the bracket as was done in the link you provided. I've measured it out and this will give me right at 3/4" of extra room without actually moving the whole radiator assembly forward. This should give me enough room to run 275s even at near Cup height. The trick is to cut away a good portion of the bracket between the two mounting pegs. I took a few pictures below and marked the part to be cut away with a silver marker. It will also help to grind away about 1/4" from the plastic radiator lip. Cutting out a portion of the bracket will leave the bracket 3/4" wide at the portion between the pegs. This will not affect the integrity of the bracket as it is very beefy to begin with. If it appears a little flimsy in that area after trimming it, I will rivet a doubler to the back side of the bracket. If done cleanly, it will look totally OEM. I'll post up before and after pictures when I get this done.
