Cobb Accessport Stage 2 tune

Long story short, I finally got an exhaust for my 996 turbo and went to download the stage 2 tune and Cobb no longer provides it. Does anyone have access to the map or knows somewhere that I might be able to find it? I do plan on a custom tune at some point, just wasn’t planning on doing it this quickly. Thanks in advance!

This is a sign to get a custom tune. Your engine will thank you

cobb apparently no longer supports the "v2"? so the newer "v3" accessport would need to be purchased and any accompanying maps.

i think that's how it shakes out. i would reach out to sambott at bydesignauto ( or here? as he was/is a sponsor here? )

he was ( if not still is? ) an authorized cobb reseller. he would surely know what your options might ( or not ) be.

You need to get a protune. Either from someone like Sam@By Design or another pro tuner near you. Cobb pulled those "stage 2 maps" because they turned off the rear O2 sensors and were illegal to run. Their new software doesn't allow the protuners to turn off emissions monitors now either. I had my K24, 5 bar fpr car cobb dyno tuned locally, runs great!

Nice to see another badger on these boards, where are you located? And what exhaust did you pick up?

The plan has always been to get a protune eventually. I just didn't feel that having only an exhaust justified getting a custom tune, but I could be wrong. I was really just planning on using the stage 2 as a get me by till I can get more things done and than get a custom tune. I didn't realize that is why they stopped allowing people to use that map.

I've had a great experience with Marksi Tuning both in terms of performance/reliability and retune support.

Just my $.02

If all you have is an exhaust, the stage 1 Cobb file is fine...

I had the Cobb stage 2 tune on my car. I am currently getting my car tuned by Markski. I forgot to revert back to stock and I accidentally sent him my datalog with the Cobb stage 2 map. He told me I had a tune and it was for 93 octane. I quickly went back to my car and checked which COBB map I installed. It was definitely the 91 octane CA stage 2 map.

Considering CA has crappy gas... I would suggest you get a protune from Sam/Bydesign since you already have a COBB Accessport or you can go with Markski, but you have to buy a different flasher. Both tuners are good options.
