Modified OEM Muffler 996TT
It will be very hard for people to believe what you have to say if you supply completely erroneous data. 70lbs is totally wrong.
Not being mean just bringing out the facts.
Don't put your wife on the scales that you're using, she'll kill you. Lol! The stock exhaust weighs 56 lbs. give or take pound. It's a well known fact documented by numerous people.
Do you need a 75mm exhaust?, Only if you have enough high power mods to take advantage of it.
Can you handle the drone and noise of a 3'' system?
Bigger doesn't always mean more if you can not use it.. Fact.. Dyno has proven that..
Then if you can make use of it, there are the other trade offs..

I have done lots of Dynoing comparisons on this forum with my 18g's at 1.4, And posted my results,, not just talk..
I make very good HP and TQ, as others have on smaller exhausts diameters.
There are other factors that come into play besides the pipe size.
Just Saying.. Lol

I know in most cases that higher Velocity trumps slower Volume in regards to flow..I know turbo exhaust gases are a little different but as I said above there is more to it then a certain size piping..
I have made my HP /TQ level on most dynos before that last X-pipe test with a Milltek that had 2.5'' exhaust outlet piping that went into a 2.200 stock tip..
Also you should do a search and see what other pipe makers have found out,and proven in regards to size,,,Like SpeedTech for instance..
John Speed I have read the thread about drilling a hole, I have looked at the pictures to try and determine where those holes will be, but I can't see them, and then I'm wondering what the DMV will say when you have to go in for your Smog test next year.
Now if you drilled the hole and then welded on a pipe that would join the existing exhaust pipes as shown in some pictures of a muffler system found on the 997's then I would say that is the way to go, but just drilling a hole may solve the annoying sound problem but it will be a pain in a lot of other places. Still don't know if anybody out there has used the Klein Exhaust system, or knows anything about it, or what exactly is the Euro-pipe, if anybody knows please share your knowledge. Thanks Karl

Rennlist has a good thread on it with pictures also..
Good Luck
Exhaust Mods
Finally settled on an exhaust, just the right kind of loud, a good sound, no drone. I know this is as good as it will get for a turbo, my 2001 996tt A Klein exhaust system is what I finally settled on, and Sambo tt is the man who made it happen. Thanks I'm a satisfied customer who needs music coming from my exhaust, not a wooooshshhh. K Dempwolf
Looking for a 2004 GT3
I think I will have my 996tt for a while, in fact for a long time since the car I'm looking for needs to be near California, needs to be well taken care of and reasonably priced, all three requirements will be make it a difficult matchup. Karl
I have 2 sets of OEM exhaust for sale. One is original from my 2003 with 20k miles on it. The 2nd is OEM with TJW mod complete with unknown miles. Sounded great, but I eventually went with a 911tuning exhaust. I'm located in Oklahoma City. Not sure about shipping costs, but I assume that it will be on the order of $150. I have $250 in the modded set. Looking for $200 plus shipping each.
