AAAAARGGGHHHHH...I broke another JIC sway bar link!#@$%#@!!!
Just finished installing JIC coilovers, H&R sways, Tarett droplinks and rear upper-control arms. I am VERY pleased with the results. As one can imagine, it is a total handling transformation. For me, the ride is not bad for the street at all. The Tarett products are second to none. The only problem encountered was the helper spring kept binding under full right/left steering. Talked to JIC about this, provided me with the pre-load dimension on the helper spring, adjusted accordingly (was off by a few mm), seems the problem has disappeared. I've been very happy with the JIC customer service, so far. Product was delivered as expected, and phones are always open. IMO these coilovers can't be beat in price and quality. I have not found another coilover manufacturer, which includes the upper mounts and adjustable camber for the front. The car has been corner balanced and aligned. I will be tracking the car in April, and look forward to some more fun with this setup.
Topcat - that is what I tell people EVERY time when they break a link. I agree with you. But some people want to run that aggressive setup. So here is a solution to hopefully not have them break those stock or coilover drop links.
Next step is to make them remote adjustable so they can be adjusted on the go.
I had a remote adjustable front blade ARB on my 993 GT2 and it was great, but the factory adjuster was a bit ordinary.
Intend to make an adjuster as you see in the Australian V8 Supercars.
Mike, quite often the failure is caused by the settings, not the equipment as I found out when we were breaking the factory RSR parts..
Mike, please explain... based on your signature you are running PSS9 right? Like Topcat says, it is not the equipment many times. I pulled one of my JIC links off my car to test fit the new ones and still no issue. I have had them on for over a year and probably have at least 10 hard hard track events on them. I am running the stock sway bar so I am not in the same position others are with the settings.
Let me "explain" the other post...
I read the first couple of posts... WAY UP FRONT the other night, and didn't bother plowing thru all the menutia... I'm sure the JIC coil over is a fine one, and I'm not gonna bash it, even if Dan does sell it!
Now that I've read the "whole" thread, which was quite long, all I can say is this: I broke the stock drop links and ended up using the Tarreds on the rear and the TRG fronts. After seeing the size of the spindly factory units, and then breaking one at the track, I can see why this should be mandatory for anyone going away from the stock suspension. And I do agree with you both that it's more how the cars are being setup. This swap of drop links takes more than just throwing them on... You have to be patient, pull some measurements before removing the old to replace with the adjustables...

I am about to revive this link. I hope someone is around reading the forum with experience. I am about to install new drop links on my front suspension. I am a little hesitant to loosen the front "Pinch Bolt" on the hub carrier. Do I need to worry about this? In other words if I loosen the front Pinch Bolt will the carrier be pushed down by the spring/shock assembly?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I did mine recently and everything stayed in place. I even put a jack stand under the assembly and lowered the car a bit to make sure it didnt move. But still nothing moved at all, good luck

I put Agency Power drop links on my now new H&R front adjustable sway with the rest being JIC with H&R rear, AP rear links, AP control arms in back.
Just did 500+ miles all over, some on some rougher than I would like roads, some hard rolling mountain roads. Not track, but almost as tough to in some ways tougher.
No movement. No noise. Etc.
Just an fyi....and the soft + 2 clicks is doing me just "fine" for the street.
Best of luck all. I love the fact that I have full adjustability in these things. Will make track work much more fun....
