Smile VF Supercharger on 996 4S

Hi guys,

I went to visit VF at waterfeast this weekend and met a few of the guys (friendly people, very informative, always good to put a face to a name). I am about to pull the trigger on a VF supercharger kit for my 2004 4S with about 40k miles on it.

just curious, anybody have one on a 4S? EVOMS use to have the 1/4 and 0-60times for the supercharged 4S on their website but it seems to be removed now and i can't find the times anymore, anybody knows what the after supercharged performance is?

any last warnings before i commit?

Just curious to see how a s/c 996 is compared to a slightly modded 996 turbo. Anyone have experience?

sell the 4S and get a 996TT if you want real power and less headaches

i have too much invested in this car already (sound system, full techart bodykit, wheels, suspension, c/f interior) to part with it now, plus i think my brother wants it

i'm pissed i didn't get the turbo and got a 4S instead, i think the dealer only wanted an extra 12k for the turbo back then... !@#$@###@#$

Yes, but the 4S is better looking than the Turbo. I like the car better sans air scoops. If you like it, keep it and SC it. Bad *** loking sleeper!

heck, i'd like to have some solid numbers too! unfortunately, Fabryce couldn't arrange a b4/after SC dyno run. next time there's a 4wd dyno day, i'm there. there are quite a few guys with 20K + miles and no issues. You won't have any regrets. The car is totally transformed and the novelty is still as new as it was 4 months ago.

i didn't know you were going, i guess i should have asked on the forums if anybody was heading down. did you see my friend Alan's car at the KMD tuning booth? seal gray TT with the protomotive 650 package, that car is a BEAST. we pretty much just drank vodka and redbull for two days straight in the sun, it was freaking HOT those two days.

the problem with the VF charger is a few BIG people that I know is giving me a really big large red flag NOT to do it (Paul at protomotive/protosport and also Farnbacher Loles, they had a booth at waterfeast too). I spoke to Farnbacher Loles at waterfeast and yesterday on the phone, they have installed about 16 VF kits on p-cars and they told me all they have is problems with engine issues and check engine lights. they felt so strongly about NOT installing one on my car that they won't even do it if i paid them to

but i'm still doing my research and there doesn't seem any other route to add significant power to our cars other than the SC. i was even thinking about contacting VF and have them write me a custom de-tuned softeware that maybe only gave me additional 100hp and 75lbs of tq (less chance of having my engine blow up)

drop me a PM next time you're around NY/NJ area bro, we should meet up for drinks

Sounds like the common denominator is the installer. Find someone who knows what they are doing and you'll be fine. Volume of installs does not translate into quality.

holy hot man... it was like being back in Middle East... the show was Aswome tho, i should have driven my Porsche down, i could have gotten it Flashed... insted i bought my Passat. I did see the KMD Car... i was at the PASMAG Booth.

I am heading down to H2O in Sep, Ocean City MD. and this time i am getting my Beast so i can have it Flashed by APR

As for the VF, i have also been told Good and Bad things about it thats why i am a little worried about SC'ing... But even if i do, ill do it when the "Updated Kit" come out (Soon) or Stage 2 comes out (due for next Summer).

PS: What a Sausage Fest that was lolz
