Question Another "What do you think this noise is?" thread

Hey all, took the toy out for a vigorous walk on Sun. noticed three things.

1. Way too much road noise from my front end more when I am coming to a stop or low speed. MY guess tires need balancing also maybe my front end suspension needs some TLC. I don't know what maintenance that needs to be done. I purchased the car with 56k on it so I don't know if it due for suspension service.

2. High whining noise? Very consistent until a fan comes on then it drops out for a second or two. It is coming from the front end. My guess Fuel Pump? Its pretty noticeable.

3. Depressing the clutch feels kind of crunchy under my foot, I know there is a spring down there that has been known to fatigue. Could this be the issue?

Thanks in advance!

I've had both of my front wheel bearings replaced because of noise. You might consider that as a potential problem.

The helper spring could be your "crunchy clutch" issue, but I'm not sure. I haven't had this issue.

I had the Front Road noise, my tires belts were "shifted" even got vibration when the tires were cold, but went away when warmed up... Problem solved with new tires. Thank god i dint spend the $$$$ on Wheel Bearing or Control Arms as orginally suggested by a Tire Shop...

Pedal noise is defintaly the Clutch Helper Spring https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-resolved.html

This is the Latest Part Number 996-423-081-20, its $49.82 USD at Suncoast or Sonnen Porsche

When high performance tires sit for long periods of time especially when cold they can develop a flat spot at the bottom of the tire which causes a vibration until the tire warms up & the flat spot goes away. Tire belts do not shift.

Yeah thanks for the info, I haven't tracked my Porsche since I posted the fasted lap in class @ Willow Springs Monday on OE tires & I guess none of the people that worked at any of the 4 tire stores I have worked at don't know anything about tires either. I just guessed when you said your tires were making a road noise when cold that went away when they heated up it was a condition that was related to cold temps, I guess the belts are unslipping when the tire gets to the right temp, right?
